Nigerians have criticised the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, over the kidnap of five pastors of the church.

Adeboye had disclosed the kidnap on Friday during a talk at the Redemption Camp along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

He said the pastors were on their way to attend the church’s ministers’ conference in Lagos ahead of the annual Holy Ghost Convention which begins on Monday.

Adeboye said the abduction took place on Thursday along the Ijebu-Ode axis.

“As a father, how do you think I should feel to hear that five of my children have been kidnapped while on their way to attend the Ministers Conference?” he asked.

Nigerians on Twitter have launched attacks at him, saying he had been silent all the while about insecurity in the country.

We are not trying to undermine the importance of prayers here, but the church can not just fold their arms and do nothing while under attack. A church where the Vice President himself attends?
