Honestly, the organisers of this movement or rally just lost the plot with the massive demands.

Some of the demands are beyond government.

Even though I agree that we need a revolution in Nigeria, my study of these demands give me the feeling that this movement is handled by charlatans and unstrategic persons.

Regardless of this long list of demands, this was just a bad time to start this revolutionary movement, Not when we RELATIVELY peaceful with a stable economy. Sowore picked a wrong schedule for this movement.

Let's take a look at a recent mass protest (still on going by the way) in Hong Kong against the proposed extradition bill. That protest was quick to spiral out of control from mere protest into a revolutionary movement, this is why people are still on the streets of Hong Kong even after the suspension of the proposed Bill

Another scenario is that of France, where Macron hike the price for fuel, The protest turned to a yellow vest movement that kept occuring every weekend till the hike was reverted but the people still clamouring for Macron removal

Conclusion
Sowore could have concealed his revolutionary plans till a little uprising like fuel hike or workers strike or even End Sars protest to further take advantage of the situation turning it into his proposed revolutionary movement. Revolution just don't happen when peace and economic stability is thriving. He could be charged in court for Treason or even disturbing public peace.

Stop your analysis. Would you be bold enough to lead revolution at your acclaimed right time? If your answer is No then go and sleep.

Would you mind telling me the peace and economic stability that is thriving?

Realdeals:
As a leading figure of the RevolutionNow protest, Omoyele Sowore continued his detention in DSS custody, the RevolutionNow organizer which include several CSO have vow to continue with the protest scheduled to start on Monday August 5 2019. They have also released the list of demands they are agitating against.

A Lagos-based lawyer and civil rights activist, Inibehe Effiong, said the government should focus on addressing the issues that informed the planned demonstration, rather than cracking down on citizens for exercising their rights to speech, association and assembly.

“We have a list of demands,” Mr Effiong said. “And everything borders around good governance.”

The protesters said the demand had been broken down into three phases, each of which contains a laundry of critical issues that must be addressed — failure over which the protest would not cease.

* First Bundle: End anti-people economic policies
* Second Bundle: End special privileges for the ruling class
* Third Bundle: Return political power and national wealth to the working people

The details of these bundles include:

First Bundle: End Anti-People Economic Policies:

* Return of fuel prices and electricity tariffs to their levels in 1999, the immediate repair of all the refineries, pipelines and fuel depots in Nigeria and, an end to the importation of fuel.
* End to estimated and inflated billing by the electricity distribution companies and to their extortion of money from consumers for transformers, poles, cables, etc.
* No devaluation of the Naira.
* End to the insecurity and constant bloodletting in the country but by methods that respect human rights and justice and the sack of the current set of service chiefs for their self-evident incompetence in their duties.
* Abolition of tuition fees and inflated service charges in all public universities and secondary schools.
* Immediate payment of the N30,000 minimum wage, with annual increases pegged to the rate of inflation and to the national average rate of profit of multinational corporations operating in Nigeria and of all local private companies employing more than 100 workers (irrespective of the contract status of such workers).
* The immediate release of all political prisoners, including Shi’ite leader Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife, and an immediate stop to the persecution of people based on their political or religious beliefs or their ethnicity.
* The immediate payment of all outstanding salaries of workers and pensions of retirees.
* The immediate implementation of all agreements the government and private sector employers have signed with the trade unions at all levels and in all sectors.
* A massive public works and services program in every sector and level of the economy as well as in the urban and rural areas to provide employment for unemployed youths.

Second Bundle: End Special Privileges for the Ruling Class:

* All public officials in elective, appointive, or senior administrative positions must be banned from educating their children or dependants in private schools in Nigeria or in schools in foreign countries.

* These officials, their immediate family, and their dependants must be banned also from obtaining healthcare in private hospitals in Nigeria or in hospitals in foreign countries.

* These officials must also receive basic salaries and allowances not higher than those received by the highest paid professors in public Nigerian universities.

* An immediate end to the use of police or military personnel as private security guards for these officials.

* Except for the president and governors, these officials and their immediate family must not live in class-exclusive estates or other similar places of residence but among the working people who they serve.

Third Bundle: Return Political Power and National Wealth to the Working People:

* The complete and uncompensated repossession by the working people of all national resources stolen by the ruling class and their foreign masters through the fraudulent privatisation of public resources since 1986.

* The complete and uncompensated seizure by the working people of all private wealth accumulated by public officials (as defined above) during and after their tenure of service whose value exceeds their total lawful and demonstrable income during and after that tenure.

* The complete socialisation of all land in the country and declaration of access to land as a basic right, by this means to break the monopoly of the ruling class on ownership and access to land in the country and thus make land available to the poor who live by farming and those who need to build their own houses.

* To break the stranglehold of the ruling class on political power by banning from politics all who have stolen the people’s money and property since 1960 and those who have been in elective or appointive political office for more at any time before and since 1999, ending the influence of money and god-fathers in politics, imposing term-limits for national and state lawmakers, completely liberating local governments from state government control, returning power from the national and state levels to governing councils controlled by citizens at the town, city, and village levels, etc.

* To reduce the cost of governance by abolishing the Senate, thus establishing a uni-cameral legislature with only the House of Representatives; and by abolishing constituency projects to end the theft of public money through such projects.

* Abolishing the death penalty except for the embezzling or privatisation of the public wealth.

* Producing a new constitution for Nigeria by a democratic and people-led process involving open discussion, debate, and determination of proposals and suggestions by the working people in towns and villages, in factories, on farms, in the Diaspora, on school campuses, in neighbourhoods, market places, workplaces, mass media, social media, etc.

This revolution protest even though I wished it could work and gain massive support of Nigerians, will never work for many reasons below:

1.) Nigeria is heavily divided tribally and religiously

2.) Many Nigerians from some majority tribes do not trust the convener of the protest because of his past deeds and relationship with current people in power.

3.) Majority of Nigerians of today are pure cowards! They prefer to be killed by Fulani terrorists, bandits, armed robbers, unruly Police officers, kidnappers and ritualists than to face the Police head on at a nationwide protest.

4.) Churches have killed the fighting and fearless spirit of Nigerian Christian population who are the majority population in Nigeria through their constant preaching of "pray, pray, wait on the Lord, pray for God to fight for you, allow God fight your battle, allow God fight your enemies"

But they forgot that even Israel the God chosen nation and even America and Italy have physical combat military fully ready to invade and kill any enemy of their nation at any given time, but over here, Nigerian Churches keep telling Nigerian Christians to pray for God to come and fight their physical enemies who are killing them with guns and physical weapons, God don't operate that way, at least not in Nigeria and in our generation.

God will only give you wisdom to create exceptional weapons and defense systems to help you protect yourself and fight your enemies, don't expect God to come down always to physically kill your enemies, God is not a magician neither is God a Babalawo

I'm pained!
See the youth who are suppose to bring the required revolution, see how they are behaving.
Senator Abbo who is also a young senator, his first achievement in office is to slap a woman.
And later we will start shouting not too young to run.
A nation revolution depends on the role playing of youth, why waist so much energy and confidence on negative things.

Problem with many of these so-called activists is that they usually have hidden agenda. By the time their followers discover it's usually too late.

I remember how student Union used to mobilize students against the school authority. Only to hear later that they held a closed door meeting later and case has been solved. After his graduation the DSA will be the ones to get him job. The DSA that they told us are devils.

So whether you're with PMB or #revolutionnow ensure that you proceed with caution.

for me the demands are too Many. this government can't fulfill them. if they truly want Nigerians to join the protest, they should start with asking Nigerians to protest against estimated billing and collecting of money from customers to buy transformers poles and wire and Also to pay for repairs. since the above is w what is killing almost all Nigerians, they will come out enmass to join the protest.

Some of these demands are reasonable. IE competition laws, profit limits, review public office holders and politicians benefits, but overall, the demands are obnoxious and speaks volumes of the economic senses of those clamouring for the revolution.

Naah... You try drive a hard bargain.

What hard bargain are you talking:

You have come into the bargain with a clumsy approach and loaded demands that gives the government several excuses to dodge the demands.

In this kind of scenario, you should have few essential and important demands; 3 - 5 major demands that are within the capacity of the government to achieve.

1. The growing insecurity in the nation is an issue

2. The rate of unemployment in the nation is another issue

3. The power-electricity challenge in the country is a presentable issue

4. The poor and inequitable development of the regions like sea ports. Why should the major functional port in Nigeria be Lagos ports? Why can't we develop the capacity of Port Harcourt and Calabar ports to receive and handle bigger vessels.

5. The poor roads and drainage infrastucture across the nation is another significant issue.

I have just given you 5 point demand that can be reasonably pushed with the government. That list of demands you initially generated are unrealistic.
