I am so hurt seeing the photos of my friend Chikwado Ezeakunne among those who attacked Ekweremadu today. Ekweremadu may not be our best politician but he is definitely not the worst. If they were looking for a politician of southeast origin to attack, Rochas or orji Kalu would had been more appropriate or even Baba Ruga himself, if they have the balls. Now I'm scared Chikwado won't dare step his foot in this country for a long time to come for fear of being picked by DSS. I leave Chikwado my friend with this last words "since you arent coming home, who is going to buy me beer this xmas"

Now you mention your friend full name for police to trace and arrest him what do you gain. You mention his name intentionally. The same Igbo's fighting Igbo's. You think northerners don't know the names of people that bomb

NICE
they really messed him up

I think this should be done to most Nigerian politicians at their grass roots , constant embarrassment and rejection might take away ounces of stupidity and greed
Also let them watch out for all the politithievians, coming to lauder our money in the abroad and start doing the same treatment.
How I so much love this administration, making the people to wake up, very soon those ones intending to carry go will think otherwise.,

Truth be told, Ekweremadu didn't deserve such treatment. With this action, ipob seems to be tilting towards extremism.

I actually support what they did to ekweremadu.

Beat the hell out of every criminal politician so that they will find it too hot to run abroad for comfort when they have put everyone here in perpetual suffering.

Exactly....

By the time people abroad start beating up all these criminal politicians, they will do their jobs

Illiterate Pigs of Biafra
Enlightened people can never treat an elder of Ekweremadu stature like a common criminal.

Python will soon dance for them, mumu people.

First time a Senator received beating, y'all shouting "dem no try". Una dey pity politician now?

i honestly dont understand it. Ekweremadu is from my state, and i am not a big fan of IPOB, but i am very pleased with the beating.

Almost all nigerian politicians deserve such treatment. You mount the position of leadership to enrich yourself leaving out the service you were elected to render and you expect people to worship you.

Just imagine what the likes of Jakande and the governors of his time achieved in 4 years with much smaller resources and compare it with the rubbish they are doing today, and you will actually realize that they all deserve to beaten by nigerians mercilessly.

Since we cant do it here in nigeria, because you will be arrested and locked up for almost a lifetime, let those abroad help us to do it.

What Ipob and other well meaning nigerians abroad should help us do is to plan for bubu and other leaders that show up in town, and give them the Ekweremadu Treatment.

Wicked people.

"RESPECT FOR ELDERS" that phrase is why Nigeria is in the condition that she is in today. In open market of ideas what does being an Elder got to do with it. You people that respect elders what has that respect brought you. Your education is a waste. IPOB mandate is not to romance government officials. Their strategy is well understood by people whom they represent. They are tactful enough because they have refused to carry arms. Although I know that what you mean by tact is holding unending press conferences, dealing underhand with government and loosing the plot along the line. The major reason Igbo marginalisation have not halted is our elite. So IPOB at the moment is writing a PhD thesis on their matter. Once the political class is fixed, then we will remind your guys how the Nigerian independent struggle was fought and won. Till then continue to run your mouth.

Some days ago, in another thread I made it quite clear that I wasn't a fan of Nnamdi Kanu. It is because of the likelihood of things of this nature, that I am not a major fan of his, and he will never be my leader. full stop

I don't know Ekweremadu, and I don't wish to know him. But one thing I know is that Ekweremadu did not deserve this rude and devilish treatment from Kanu's devils.

One day, this maltreatment meted out on Ekweremadu, will be Kanu's portion in Igboland. Mark my words. I know very shortly he may go on Radio Biafra to dissociate himself from this act, but the fact remains that it is those that he indoctrinated with unnecessary hatred towards their fellow Igbos and Biafrans who do not deserve this treatment, that carried out this act.

So while I am all for restructuring and Biafra. Kanu will never lead it, nor ever be respected by me, on the basis of this evil act against Ekweremadu. If it had been against Orji Kalu or Okorocha, I may be able to overlook it, but against Ekweremadu. HABA!!!!! If it was against Buhari or against Tinubu or Ngige or Rotimi Amaechi, I will overlook it also.

Before this saga they treat us like animal already..guy nothing will change, nobody or country respect Nigeria.
semyman:
The Invictus Obi's saga is disheartening not because another Nigeria yet again has been busted for fraud, it's disheartening because the rippling effect will be enormous.
A lot of Nigerians are going to pay for yet another scandal by a single Nigerian.

Thing is Obinwanne was not just another average Nigerian, he had a CV and portfolio that was envied on even by the international community.

He was looked upon as one of the bright spots to come out of this dark hellish place called Nigeria.

Obinwanne Okeke (Invictus) was one of the supposed few answers to the damning question of can anything good come out of Nigeria?

Featured by Forbes as one of the Forbes 30 under 30.
He's been on BBC, given a Ted Talk, Spoke at London school of Economics Africa Summit.
Has a conglomerate spanning across many African countries dealing on oil, agriculture, infrastructure, solar energy etc.
Had a lot of International awards celebrating his achievements

With this sort of portfolio and at 32yrs, he was seen as this bright spark coming out from a country that has more trends for despicable things than amiable ones.

Only to find out that beneath all this facade was a fraudster. A serial one.

An international corporate yahoo boy with suits and a great CV to match.
Estimated to have stolen $20-$22million from US companies from 2011 till date.

There was always that gaping hole in his story about his start up capital that gave an itch of not adding up.
But then we gave benefit of the doubt as we usually do even to our own collective detriment in a bid not to come across as a hater.

He fooled a lot of people and that for a long time. Make no mistake about it, he's going to pay for his crimes. But he isn't my concern.

You can't help but feel for other innocent Nigerians that are going to pay for the crimes of Obinwanne too.

Obinwanne would be in his prison scrub for a long time serving his time.

While other Nigerian out there will be getting Visa denied even after meeting and surpassing all the requirements.

Other Nigerians would have to work twice as hard to earn a modicum of trust and respect within the international community.

International organizations are going to pull out of deals the moment they become aware a Nigerian is part of the deal.

International airports will be a lot more hostile than they already are the moment they see you with that almost worthless green passport.

More companies will start declining cards coming from this part of the world.

Nobody wins here, not you, not me.

Imagine one of the few people who had earned the trust and admiration of the international community being busted for fraud.
What is your fate being an average John Doe or Jane Doe?

While Obinwanne is going to pay for his crimes inside the walls of a correctional facility.

You are going to pay for his crimes in embassy halls, airports, business meetings, immigration offices etc.

It will be no fault of yours, you would probably have all the requirements but still would be treated as an infidel.

When one of your supposed brightest minds has been busted as a fraud.

What are your chances?

Nobody won here.

We all lost.

As much as I do not condone assaulting anyone, I am somewhat glad that Nigerians are now starting to do more than just complain.
We should however note that not everyone who is speaking out against the elites, including the current administration has the same motive. Some people aren’t necessarily concerned about the level of poverty in the country or its insecurity, some are just frustrated because they aren’t the ones in power to enjoy the looting as well. Some would prefer Atiku to lead instead of Buhari, some would even rather that the country was split up, however, some of us are interested in building a nation where peace, unity, justice, equality, fairness and excellence shall thrive. Whether it be Hausa/Fulani, Yoruba, Igbo, Efik, Tiv, Iraq, Itshekiri or any other tribe, what should matter the most is a leader who hears the call of Nigeria’s national anthem “To serve with heart and might and build a nation where peace and justice shall reign” and also inspires the citizens to do the same.
The only way Nigerians can get rid of their REAL ENEMIES- the political elites, is to come together and resist them. If we haven’t learnt anything before, let us look at President Buhari who most people were willing to believe the stories about his integrity and that he would bring positive change in 2015, he has taken that trust and shoved it up our asses. We believed we were getting a competent General (rtd) as our commander in chief, see where we are security-wise, what if we didn’t have a commander in chief that had experience being a former General?
Remove your hopes from these elites, they are all the same- whether they come as pastors or imams and so called men of integrity, they have all corrupted themselves and deadened their consciences.
Let us set aside tribal differences and define the type of country we want for ourselves and our children. Would it be one governed by thieves and the most incompetent of our citizens or do we want to raise the standard higher?
