In corroboration of what DBR just said, a rap verse may not look good to rhyme when read on paper . . . Most times I form a flow in my head even before I pen 'em . . . Nuccas are used to the usual "1,2,3,4" metronome counting when reading bars on text and not all bars can be rhymed that way . . .

Both dudes in this spar scored under all the paramaters used to grade a rap verse . . . Each just had his high/low point . . . The fact that DBR scored high for depth does not mean Ibime scored zilch, and the fact that Ibime had humor doesn't mean DBR had none . . . It's just a question of on whose side does the scale weigh heavier??

That said, I don't agree that DBR's verse got no rhythm . . . It may not look so rhythmical as Ibime's on paper but I can rhyme it on audio without breaking a sweat.

Do you know a punch can hit twice as hard if built up with the right multies? Some of us who like to get technical like to grade build-up, and multis achieve the effect that the build-up reaches a crescendo before the punch drops.

Something like this. . .

This dude is a vet/his lines truly connect/ so Ill be very polite and show you some respect/

The crescendo there is built by the multis and the ability to take the audience the other way. . .like you respect the dude. . Then the very next second he's hanging from a belt.

Some of us would score more points for something like that, than two lines packed with 2 punches, but no build up and no crescendo.

@ibime now we return to the initial issue. As build ups go in this last 'verse' the climax was a twist and to be anal you did it in 3 lines. To me this hits harder than say the extended family line. All I'm saying is the punch at the end should justify the build up. That is why he beat you at punches. IMO though.
Of cos I'd give us the multies vote, but its jus the one category see? But perhaps a shorter build or a more 'wtf' punch wouldav given you the 'punches' vote. I guess that's what Bam meant when he said 'close'.

Agreed . . . and that's why I scored you higher than DBR for rhyme structure . . . since it's strictly a text rap . . . but I'm getting the feeling that some dudes think a verse can't be properly rhymed on audio just cos it doesn't look good on paper . . . that's where I beg to differ . . . one doesn't even need to tongue-twist to articulate 'clumsy-looking' or several lines in quick succession - and that's where rappers like Tonedeff or Eminem (when vexed) ace so many other rappers.
