It's an absolutely ridiculous judgement. The company supposedly invested 40 million even though no facility was built to process and electrify the natural gas. As such an award of 40 million or at most 40 million + lost interest should be awarded. Rewarding them for 20 years of potential lost income is ridiculous. There is no way Nigeria will ever pay that much. At most the company will sieze assets in the uk which will probably be under 100 million and have to make do. This will however deter foreign investment in Nigeria. |
