Protesters have stormed the United Kingdom High Commission in Abuja over a court judgement which granted Process and Industrial Development Ltd to take over $9.6 billion worth of Nigeria’s asset.

The protesters, identified as Coalition of Civil Society Groups, began their protest on Monday and have vowed to continue their action for the next one week until the judgement is reversed.

Some of their placards read: “$9.6bn judgement is a fraud,” “Nigeria and Britain are friends, not enemies,” “No to illegal takeover of our national assets,” “Nigeria rejects fraudulent judgment from British judge.”

Details later…

All the loot recovered by EFCC how has it benefitted the masses. Una sponsorers are sharing it among themselves

Kudos to the patriotic Nigerians fighting for the interest of their country. The evil judgement given by the UK court cannot stand. We are not going to dash $9.6 billion of our hard earned money to that dubious P$ID company. Never!

Good. Even if sponsored by the FG. It's a plot to weaken the currency under Buhari and subject people to poverty

This contract I believe is a conspiracy by Alison Madueke and her goons, to also include Jonathan.

Why will a UK court decide a case that was arbitrated in Nigeria?
It shows that some powers who were key players in the issue are the ones backing P&ID to recover their money so as to weaken our foreign reserve, cause inflation and subject people to extreme poverty... And guess what? Buhari will be blamed.

Because, how can a loan of $40million rise to $9.6b... at what interest was it signed biko? Only scammers will sign such an agreement

I believe Alison Madueke quickly hijacked this contract from Yaradua, by quickly sacking Mohammed Barkindo who was the NNPC GMD and Jonathan enforced it.

She's the evil force in that government.

When the debt was reduced to $850million, why didn't Jonathan probe the contract and find out how the contract came about. But no, he covered it up ......

Also, how will the UK court expect us to pay such a huge sum for a contract that was never executed. Or please tell the Goodluck and Madueke to take us to the site where the project was executed

The contract was void abinitio. The signatures authorizing the contract purportedly by the president was fraud. So many things went down the drain during the interlude period when Yarádua was in coma. I am so sure that quite a lot went successfully without being discovered.

When you talk of SELF-HELP, these our APC- led government officials are masters at the game.

I don't know which government MDA that budgets for protest sponsorship.
At least, let them advertise these freelance jobs, because many Nigerians would not mind.

Western govts are not easily blackmailed. Dem no send una o.

i have mixed feelings about the judgement, and ill say our reputation as the most corrupt African country and a top 5 spot in the world, has made the UK govt not to trust releasing those assets to us, our politicians wil just share it amongst themselves and their cronies. Money that if released will not translate to better living for the average Nigerian.
If you think politicians put the country first in their minds, you must be one of the many fools that believe in true love.

Humans can sometimes be bizarrely complicated animals. Just out of hatred for Buhari, there're full blooded Nigerians who actually want the FG to pay $9bn to the UK.
