You think everything about life is hustle?

Btw, I'd rather work hard and smart than hustle.

(Maybe if you looked up the origin and meaning of hustle... You'll understand why we are in a state of mess as a nation)

Everybody is a hustler. fork that shiit. euphemism will not change anything.

Well, I'd tell you why I called him a fool. He's stepped over a dollar note to pick up a cent.

He was building an institution at budgIT. Now, he is trading all he has worked for for a 4 year or less term as a political appointee.

Step down or not, he still has an influence over the staff at budgIT. That puts the credibility of the numbers coming out of budgIT in the next few years in doubt.

His role at budgIT was an honourable one, and would have outlasted any special or technical adviser role in this government.

Well... If you can't beat them, you join them.

He is not there for 4 years.

He is there for a very short while to assist the new minister set up procedures, so they can track just as he is tracking.

What's so political about "Technical Adviser (Budget & Planning)"? - it's more of a technocratic role than anything else.

The guy is obviously very good at what he does and the government recognised it, and decided to hire his skills. As for me I hope he is able to make positive impact in the role and wish him the best.

Let's wait to see how things turn out.

On a side note, we need to be more positive about things to do with our country as there's good and bad EVERYWHERE in the world. Many of us are so disenchanted about the negatives we see and hear regularly, that we fail to appreciate the good things. Note however that those negatives that discourage us do not discourage foreigners from exploring and exploiting the positives, potentials and opportunities in Nigeria for their own benefit.

I agree Nigeria is generally not such a great place, but so many problems mean so many opportunities to profit from.

Identify a problem within that Nigerian mess and develop a solution for it, and you'll surely get your reward. That's what just happened to Seun Onigbinde.

Peace.

Take most of these idiots serious at your own risk. Look at El Rufai, Oshiomole, Fayemi, the fat-faced Buhari spokesperson Femi Adeshina, Pat Utomi, Joe Odumakin, etc. The list is endless. These pretenders were once seemingly conscientious 'activists'.... But as soon as they find an opportunity to join and/or benefit from the prevailing corrupt status quo, they shamelessly grab it and rub it in the masses' faces.

I'm no longer impressed by anyone's big English and fire-speak. They all ALL desperate, unprincipled, champagne-socialist opportunists. I miss the likes of Gani Fawehinmi of blessed memory. Pure firebrands like that. They don't make them that way anymore.

Mr Onigbinde’s Twitter account went offline moments after news of his appointment as technical adviser (budget and planning) in the Federal Ministry of Budget and National Planning broke on Friday.

Is it me or why do Nigerians not realize that we are the only English speaking country in the world that use "Adviser" in place of "Advisor"?

Some fools don't know what appointment means. It's service to the nation not service to the president. It's very unreasonable to reject an appointment which is an opportunity to contribute to nation building.

His account is back.

I don't see anything wrong with appointing a critic into a position if that critic is competent enough and I also don't see anything wrong with accepting that position if you know that you want to serve your country.

However, I think that people were angered by the fact that he went from criticising the government to insulting the government and its followers towards the end of 2018
abi oooo constructive criticism is different from hateful comments...

grin grin His criticisms of PMB will cease henceforth. We all know that is why they criticize in the first place. Looking for attention and possible appointment. FFK did it aggresively and the ogogoro drunkard took notice and settled him. Reno and Sani are still trying their luck but I doubt if PMB will look their way cheesy cheesy

I so much appreciate your exposition on my comment. I was not aware that a larger school of thought finds "Adviser" acceptable.

I totally agree with your point that both Adviser & Advisor are interchangeably usable. Thus I feel I was needlessly harsh on "Adviser".

However, I am a bit of a conservative and formalist in matters concerning Language. While both words are largely acceptable, some purists of the English language insist that Advisor is a more appropriate term for someone who advises on a formal basis. The same way you have; Director, Councillor, Administrator, Legislator etc rather than directer, counciller, administrater or legislater. you get my drift?

Thank you again for pointing me aright.

You are quite right. Unfortunately, I don't think we possess the economical and educational clout to establish our version of the English language like the Americans did.
