@izzou regarding your question about the traffic light. Picture one is an image of a Tram crossing a junction used by both the bus, car, and other road users (power bike, etc). There's traffic everywhere but they only work when the Tram is crossing. The tram driver will engage the traffic that will then turn other red(stop) traffic lights on. When the tram is crossing, it doesn't respect even the Zibra crossing. Everyone must wait for the few seconds 4 Likes

I was on my way to the bank yesterday to collect my bank card. I met this boy in the bus with this big novel. I was like: see this small boy ooo. It was inspiring knowing seeing the boy with his novel at such a young age. Update I got the best banking services in my life yesterday. O boy, my account officer took time, explained everything to me, took me to the ATM, showed me how to make cash deposit at the ATM. He gave me 15 euros and told me it will be deducted by my mobile service providers (he doesn't want my money to be removed yet). Then he promised to send 50 euros gift card in a week time. 37 Likes 2 Shares

izzou: Within the city, there's no train. The speed train has it's own station, from there you can go to Paris, airport, or other part of France. Outside the train station, you can use the tram, bus, or car. The tram is same as the train but with lower number of coaches. It is important to state that the tram is powered by electricity and that 75% of France electricity comes from Nuclear energy and we have been sent to benefit from France expertise in nuclear energy with the hope of helping Nigeria start their first nuclear power plant in 2025. Na true self, I never see trailer or tankers for here. I go shine my eyes 18 Likes 2 Shares |

We were told that there's usually an open market in Nantes, where you can buy things are cheaper rate Yesterday, we decided to check it out. We met few Nigerians shaa but didn't identify ourselves as one. The reason is: About 2 weeks ago we went to one African shop. After selecting the things we needed, one guy there asked us one funny question: "Have you guys started processing your papers" It was strange to us. Obviously, I didn't know what that means as we were not told of any additional papers to process in France. So we told him that we don't understand. He then asked the second funny question, followed immediately by the third most funny question: "When una enter?", "how una take enter, no be water" At that point, we quickly remembered the advice we were given by a PTDF Ph.D student in Nantes. He told us not to easily identify ourselves as a Nigeria because majority of Nigerians here who are not students are here illegally. "Na plane una follow come?", we answered yes, the guy was surprised. He then requested for our number and our address. We told him that we are still new and do not have any phone See some images on our way to the market 34 Likes 2 Shares

The open market in my opinion is for international residents. I saw few French people there but majority of buyers are Indians, Africans, etc. I saw some funny fishes yesterday 12 Likes 2 Shares

Well, I think things are relatively cheap. When I left the market, I entered into one Saloon to cut my hair and spoke the little French I know. I asked the lady: "combine ca coute" (how much does it cost), she replied, vingt-six euros. I heard it but did my ear as if I dey train pig. Asked her again to be clear, she replied vingt-six euros (26 euros), I did multiplication by 400 and it gave me N10400. I remembered its Emmanuel Macron that is the president and left the shop. 39 Likes 2 Shares

mrphysics:The bolded is common but you should not because of that fail to identify yourself as a Nigerian to any and all that ask. There are lots of Nigerians in France doing great things in every sector of their economy and as one of them, be a shining light to our fellow West African brothers. (No be everybody wey black for France follow water enter Europe - Let them know that) I belong to a group of Nigerian professionals and students in France called FON (Friends of Nigeria) and everyone of us are doing great things. Some of them recently concluded a conference: SPOTLIGHT NIGERIA (Link to the event) here in Paris and lots of dignitaries attended. My point is: Be a shining light! You are a Nigerian, don't fail to identify as one! 44 Likes |

davide470:Thanks brother. I usually identify myself as one, infact every Friday, I dress with my native attire to school and I get a lot of questions and compliments. We didn't identify ourselves because we are still new, less than a month and due to our experience with the other guy. We need to understand ourselves, environment, and neighbourhood first. Nice forum and merci. 26 Likes |
