It will be suicidal to go back to South Africa, they are ready to kill because the drugs that some Nigerians bring to their country is destroying their children

Cyril Ramaphosa won’t be out there in the streets begging his people to stop, without his people, he won’t be the president. Now some of these same set of people are claiming other Africans are causing a lot of havoc on their homeland & are maiming, killing them. The xenophobic attacks won’t be decided in the presidential house, it’s out there on the streets. I would never implore the returnees to ever go back. These attacks aren’t over and these people aren’t remorseful. These things don’t just go away overnight. It’s quite imperative to heed advice , stay back home , find a side hustle just to keep body and soul alive instead of going to one silly semi developed African country

Well said!

Most of those guys evacuated didn't even have valid visas not to talk of passports. Age must really be telling on OBJ if he thinks SA will allow them back in.

Na so. Instead of encouraging more jobs and entrepreneurs in Nigeria, OBj wants to drive Nigerians back to SA. This is part of the brain drain.

The man said Nigerians should be ready to go back if" the proposed bilateral agreement is signed" not just go...
Let us read before we jump OBJ.
At least, the man tried. As a former President, he took the pain to see the South African leader to discuss the issue.

Re: Go Back To South Africa, Obasanjo Advises Returnees by grandstar(m): 11:36pm On Sep 28, 2019
The issue isn't about protecting Nigerians and other Africans.

The real issue is about then high unemployment rate and very high rate of violent crime in South Africa. Xenophobia is simply the symptom of the problem. It is not the problem.

Another is poor economic growth rate and poor educational qualifications for millions of black South Africans.

The primary reason why unemployment rate is high in South Africa is because the country has rigid labour laws which makes it expensive to hire and fire formal workers. This discourages hiring. Imagine for instance the government here in Nigeria enforces the 30,000 minimum wage? Millions will loose their jobs. So, the jobs are 'there' but the workers have been priced out of the market.

The very high violent crime rate in South Africa is a fall out of the Apartheid struggle. Violence was heavily associated with the struggle especially towards the tail end of it. Just imagine what happens in Nigeria when there are riots and protests, all kinds of misfits partake and run the show. They are bound to intimidate bystanders and others and even extort them.

Their criminal activities could be covered up with the Struggle but when it ended and there was no need for any agitations no longer, their true colours were revealed. South Africa refused to send in the police to clear the country of the criminals probably because the blacks would have seen the detested South African Police as an occupation army.

A gangsters paradise makes it easy for xenophobic attacks coupled with the wanton looting and destruction associated with it to be easily carried out. It is like what many say up North that the existence of grown up Almajiris are easy tools for religious riots there. If these Almajiris did not exist, there will be much lower number of foot soldiers to attack people.

Fast economic growth is needed as it is a job creating machine. South Africa's job prospects could be brighter if the country's economy was growing briskly as businesses will be booming and employing lots of workers. However, the rigid labour laws will still be a spoiler but fast growth will surely help.

Many blacks are poorly skilled and that makes getting the kind of jobs that will place them into the middle class or even working class will be an illusion. These will breed resentment against well educated blacks from other African countries who get high paying jobs.

rather encourage them to stay in Nigeria and breed less. Because a Nigerian in South Africa will resot to crime,as they will have very few opportunities even if they're educated. Due to their reputation for scams. In the late 1990s and early 2000s,majority of nigerians who were given opportunities based on their degrees. Were found to have faked those qualifications. So nigerian degrees are as worthless as naira and used toilets. The more nigerians come to SA and turn to crime, the more they will be hated or disliked. As for Cyrial,he will be the first south african president to be impeached or taken out of office by the people. (Soon you are going to see anti government protests,if he continue with the bs of putting interest of putting Africa and ANC,above South Africa and her citizens. All that is needed now is the tricker for that, and handling of that will be spark needed)
