Soso990240: Bullion vans are not for banks alone. Mercedes have their own bullion vans; even schools use bullion vans to safeguard valuables. And jewelers use bullion vans to move jewelries to their stores. You people need to read extensively so you don't go out of the country to embarrass the rest of us. |

Mrquote: Section 7 (1) (b) of the EFCC Act 2004 empowers the agency to cause investigation to be conducted into the properties of any person if it appears to the Commission that the person's lifestyle and extent of the properties are not justified by his source of income. The topic came out of ignorance and illiteracy. The twitter illiterate quoted EFCC act that doesn't apply to Tinubu. Tinubu is not a public official, he left pubic office decades ago Tinubi is successful business man so renting BV to transport his valuables is not living beyond his means, you too can rent BV. Unlike ekweremadu with mansions all over the world, Tinubu's only residence are pension entitled residence in Ikoyi and Abuja. Stop peddling ignorant rubbish by illiterates on twitter. If you really care about corruption, ekweremadu is a public official living beyond his means with mansions all over the world, but tribalism and bigotry won't let you do that. Renting a bullion van to transport your valuable is not a crime or it means living beyond your means. |

BluntBoy: You're the real ignoramus here. Infact your ignorance is resistant to learning from facts. Why are you talking as if you're blind and can't read and interpret the EFCC act which was cited? The power given to the EFCC as cited in the act was specifically subject to their SUSPICION and not necessarily when a petition is tendered against an individual. In a simpler term, even if there was no petition against an individual, that specific act still empowers the EFCC to badge on you if they are SUSPICIOUS about your action. Now look at it from this way, a bullion van was seen entering into Tinubus house on an election eve and at a critical time when there was a serious campaign against the issue of vote buying during elections and you don't see anything suspicious about that abi? Stop talking about the issue of living above one's means because being rich doesn't deter people from engaging in corrupt practices. You think you know, but I would say you know nothing about interpreting a legal statement if this is how you reason. I'm not surprised though because I understand you're having a boner simply because Tinubu was mentioned. 2 Likes 1 Share |

respect80: lol...So, because election is coming, it is a crime to rent BV and Tinubu forfeited his rights to live his life, to spend his money or to hire BV to transport his valuables?. You people are really really funny and laughable.. |
Re: Tinubu’s Bullion Vans: Between EFCC And Segalink On Twitter by NGpatriot: 8:45pm On Oct 17, 2019 |
Soso990240: How do you determine that? Do you follow every BV moving around Lagos state everyday to determine where they are going and who rented them? The fact that you are too broke and poor doesn't mean rich people can not rent BV to transport their valuables. SMH at Nigerian youths and their funny mentality.. |

BrokenTV: You mean the fact that he's a ruling party politician means he's no longer a civilian or he lost his rights as a Nigerian to live his life, to make and spend money, to fire a BV to transport his money? Who are you to dictate to any Nigerian what they can or not do with their time and money? Who are you? Ekweremadu is a politician, a current civil servant from your backyard with your constituency money and dozens of mansions all over the world, but you are ready to kill yourself over Tinubu in Lagos? You hypocrites and tribal elements and your ignorant nonsense sha.. |
Re: Tinubu’s Bullion Vans: Between EFCC And Segalink On Twitter by BluntBoy(m): 9:16pm On Oct 17, 2019 |
respect80: Bro, your understanding about life is very limited. So, you are the one to determine what EFCC must perceive as suspicious? And I never said petition is the only way EFCC gets the need to swing into action. I only mentioned it as one of the ways. Now, there is no evidence that the Tinubu bullion van incident was the first of its kind. Perhaps, it is a monthly or every 3-4 month affairs. It fell on the eve of election does not mean it is something to be suspicious about. Except you want to tell me that it is only on an election eve or election day that votes are bought or sold. So, it would mean that you wouldn't ordinarily have a problem with it supposing the incident happened mid last year? This obviously points to the possibility that bullion vans have probably always come to Tinubu's house but no significance was attached to the visit. If suspicions are raised every time someone uses a bullion van, then it wouldn't matter if it were on election eve. It would mean schools and automobile giants such as Mercedes who use bullion vans would be ever under suspicion. |

Re: Tinubu’s Bullion Vans: Between EFCC And Segalink On Twitter by respect80(m): 9:33pm On Oct 17, 2019 |
BluntBoy: You're only trying to divert the subject of discourse from the legal implications of the act which was cited by the EFCC handle which triggered this whole argument. This is not just about Tinubu, it is about the double standards EFCC are operating by. What is good for the goose is also good for the gander. I will also admonish you not to be ignorant of the fact that this is a democratic dispensation in which the voice of the people should at least stir up some reactions by any sitting government but sadly, this administration and most of their elites are too dumb to understand how things ought to be done. What happen to EFCC going to investigate Tinubu even if it's under the guise that they were trying to clear the air on the suspicion raised by the masses as regards the BV issue but NO! they choose to maintain their selective mode of operation. Can't say more than this, if you don't see anything wrong with what we are talking about here, then let your conscience be the judge. Sycophancy thrills but it kills faster than a sword. 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: Tinubu’s Bullion Vans: Between EFCC And Segalink On Twitter by BluntBoy(m): 9:45pm On Oct 17, 2019 |
respect80: You keep on mentioning the EFCC act without even understanding it. The act mentions suspicion based on lifestyles that conflict with source of income. Based on that act, it is impossible to be suspicious of Tinubu. He is a businessman who heads a conglomerate of businesses. So, he can very well fund the lifestyle he is leading. Another way to get EFCC involved is through petitions. I am very sure many of you who rant here have yet to petition EFCC on Tinubu. You expect them to act on incoherent social media rants that are driven by hate? If you are so sure that Tinubu is living beyond his means, then you can petition the EFCC with weighty indicators, of course, not with instances that can be canceled out easily. Imagine petitioning against Tinubu by referencing the bullion van incident. Even a law student can cancel that out. Even if Tinubu is into money laundering, you need to prove that beyond the bullion van incident. Even jewelers use bullion vans to secure valuables. |

[s] respect80:[/s] Stop hating on Tinubu, he is not your portion in life and he's not responsible for your daily life, he's not collecting your taxes, he is not collecting your allocations, you are invisible and irrelevant to him so why are you killing yourself? The people responsible for your life are your useless kerosene governors and ekweremadu collecting your constituency project money to buy mansions all over the world. Get a job to better your life, TINUBU is not responsible for you and your state. |
