This is what you to do:
Get a small saving box, you can either buy or meet a carpenter to construct one for you. Each day you have the urge to play bet, try to discipline yourself enough to put the money inside the saving box. Now listen, don't expect to quit betting instantaneously, trust me it won't work. Try to reduce the amount of money you bet per day. Then put the bigger amount in the saving box. By so doing, you would gradually stop betting and save yourself some shopping money for xmas

Very simple...... Speak to all your friends and enemies etc etc never to lend/borrow you money......

If you have a girlfriend/wife, speak to her about your addiction and what role she can play......

Now make her in charge of all your income/incoming payments....... (hopefully, she no go chop ur moni)

it is very easy. Buy a safe box and always put those money you want to use to stake in it.

As you have done this thrice, you will definitely have the urge to make sure that container box is filled with money.


Another way is by telling yourself the truth or by abusing the betting companies every morning or any moment the urge comes.

Example: Chelsea vs Mancity will play this weekend. When the urge comes, say to yourself, " bastard teams, bastard betting companies wanting to wreck people of their hard earned money. Abeg make I go use my money chop rice and beans with 2 meats joor"

After you have eaten, you are on your way home and you heard the match ended in 0-0, my man begin to laugh and insult them more that they won't smell your money again.

Another way is to go to any bet shop, sit down and start observing people playing visual, Aja ere, colour colour. Watch how their ticket spoils and how they squeeze it and dump it on the ground, tell yourself, see as this people are converting their money to paper.

To kill a bad habit, you have to modify your environment. Say you want to cut down on tv, move the tv from the living room, or even sell it.

And that is where the problem is. To stop betting, you have to remove bet9ja from your environment. But I see more bet9ja than mtn umbrellas. I counted three on a single road this afternoon.

That does not include the pop ups on internet websites

You want to quit, you may have to move up north where I think but am not sure that they are conservative about betting and are hampering it’s proliferation.

Your case may be different as for me betting is helping my life. I win money almost every day. 20k, 30k,40k and so on. People like the OP would select 30 games and play with 100 naira expecting to win millions; some people get lucky through that though but it's rare.
The Minimum and maximum odds I bet is always 5 to 13 odds, I either play with 2k or 3k and by God's grace luck is always on my side.

Prayer is key with actions , so I give the steps to help you out
1. Avoid any gambling joints, or area. If the spot is close to your route going home or going to work, friends, church or whatever place you pass through often. Find a different route and avoid such areas.
2. Let someone keep you accountable with money, meaning someone should discipline on how you spend your money. Someone keeps your extra money that you trust with your life where you do not have easy access whenever you have the urge to gamble. A person that where you ask for the money , they will not give you your money except for emergencies.
3. Every money you have , you must have a daily limit on how you spend your cash no matter what with someone monitoring how you spend your money- Set a reasonable limit where you know that you must you cannot overspend no matter what and you must be honest with yourself e.g I will not spend more than N2000 a day only expect for emergencies
4. You have to avoid tiggers that give the urges to gamble e.g football matches, boxing or any event. You have to find an alternate to your tiggers event that is what is causing you gamble. Find an alternate hobbies, or get your mind busy with anything productive e.g you can jog , read a book, work out, shadow box whenever you have the urge to gamble.
5. Reward yourself as you make progress

Best thing is to sit down, think of the good things you've lost, where you ought to be right now and make a decision if you want to be s better person or die in penury and Shame. It's not just making up your mind to stop. It's about realising what you could have achieved if you aren't gambling, then make up your mind. It's up to you to stop.
