OgogoroFreak: You people are more concerned about xx.x?? Mind you Oga, a 50k job isn't seriously a dream job and i will expect anyone with such job to be more concerned about cutting off unnecessary expenses. If x.xx is that important, then the roomie could excuse him. 1 Like |

coolgb: True but haven't you heard of people who were trying to cut cost by renting a below par apartment in an environment they never had peace of mind? My brother, if you can get a 200k apartment that is close to your workplace, that wouldn't threaten your peace of mind, please go for it. We Nigerians over calculate things and we end putting our lives in danger. A friend of mine earns 53k but because he was trying to cut cost, he got a self contain apartment at Egbeda for 140k, his cost of transportation alone and the rigor of waking up at 4am to beat the traffic ,leave Victoria island by 5pm only to get home at 9pm made the job a living hell, nobody told him to get an accomodation at Ikeja a year later for 200k. 13 Likes |

My first rent in Lagos was #100K/pa some years back. I was fully unemployed live only on street hustle (car sales). Different story now, working in a multinational organization now pays #800k for a better crib. That’s my one month salary plus my car sale hustle...Hard work pays..... 11 Likes 1 Share |

From reading several comments.. one good factor to note is that "it gets better with time" once you take the first step. Personally, I will advice from that salary, take just a one room or self con not more than 100k per annum. First payment will be higher than that cos of other fees. It will get better with time. I got my first apartment for 48/annum from a 60k salary. 4 Likes |
