Having read variety of comments from all sorts of fellows including hypocrites, sexists, feminist, liberal people et Al I will love to share my thoughts on the scenario.

I am sure there is no law against consensual sex between two adults (18 years and above).
I am also sure there is no law against someone opting for the recording of his/her sex tape. The couple in the viral sex video have done no wrong.
The couple are victims! They have not hurt anyone.
The predator is whoever made the video viral without either/both parties involved consent.

Its disgraceful that people are throwing shades or blames.

As for the expulsion,we are in no position to decide whatever actions they university should take. Its all about their policies that were willfully signed and agreed to by the students.
If the policy of the school frowns solely at sexual misconduct whether within or outside the school premises and the party involved in the scandal "agreed" to abide by the school policies(which is as a matter of fact a prerequisite before admission is granted) then the school has all right to expel the student involved.

If there is no such policy on sexual misconduct outside the school premises then the school has no right to expel her.

The real predators are the ones who made the video go viral. I guess they should be punished gravely for it.

Let us not find fulfilment in spreading scandal, and if you come across either of the couple involved don't stigmatize or make them feel uncomfortable or slut sham them.
Thanks!

hey dear, you should know by now that most Nigerians are very hypocritical, they were not kids but adults, those criticizing them do same so I dont understand the fuzz about this video. Its because of reactions like this that give others the guts to spread such videos in a bid to punish or tarnish the image of another, if one or two persons have been punished for this and others dont find joy in such predicaments, this madness would have died a natural death. About the expulsion, you are right, I'm sure the students know the school rules and agreed to it.

most times to avoid all these wahala dont just record urself on video when doing it cheesy.when the video initially came out she was tagged as a babcock student who was having sex on video so why be surprised that babcock had to act fast and expel her cheesy. For a private university and a christian one for that matter they would do anything to protect their reputation cheesy.

arent the student suppose to be a great ambassador of their university, image wise, since they are adult, they wouldnt allow their sex videos online, is sex not suppose to be private affairs?

if you had a job and your sex tape was online, your employer know about it... dont you think, you wont be sacked?

i know someone blackmail them, i think it is one of the boy friends but then again nobody will face punishment even though the victims have destroy their chances of getting a job in the future.

as the rule when having sex leave no evidence for blackmail

You have made a sound argument. I totally agree with you on this. Concentual sex is no crime.

Its disgraceful that people are throwing shades or blames.
Not necessarily disgraceful. Throwing shades at the two people have sex is plainly irrational and hypocritical (on the part of many) as concentual sex is not a crime and many, even the religious, are "guilty" of concentual premarital sex and even porn and masturbation.
— If the video was recorded and released against their will, then the person who videoed and released it online solely takes the blame.
— if the video was permitted by the couple to be to be taken but not to be released, then the one who released it should be blamed and the couple should be faulted for their stupidity.
— if the video was permitted by the couple to be to be taken and released, then they are to bear the consequences without complaints.

Condemnation of the couple can only come from religious conviction and it's morality.

As for the expulsion,we are in no position to decide whatever actions they university should take. Its all about their policies that were willfully signed and agreed to by the students.

I second this.

I'm sure you read the part where I typed that the school wasn't wrong in expelling them. Aside that, they have commuted no offence, not until a law is passed against recording ones self during sex, then they have done no wrong. Even those criticizing them have their sex videos in their phones and laptops grin

You ve spoken well and I can understand where you are deriving at but,
(1) Babcock is only trying to protect their business interests.
(2) We as adults must be ready to take responsibility of our actions, wether good or bad.
(3)You can't stop people from talking.
(4)This should also serve as a lesson to others.and
(5)It's high time parents wake up from their slumber.Too much moral decadence in so many homes.
You made a nice point and pocohantas also made a nice point but we can only talk, the school has taken a measure which is for their own interest.

I wanted to type some, excuse that part. Smart or not, you can only vouch for your self, the said girl did not send the video thinking she is smart, what about the guy?

With every action and inaction human engages in, there are unintended consequences attached to it or outcomes that are not the ones foreseen and intended by a purposeful action. They chose to record their sexual intercourse, but the downside is that something (the sexual clip) that is once in their private domain can become public through unintended means such as phone theft and partner blackmail, privacy invasion, etc.

Personally, though, I do not get why people record their sexual intercourse, perhaps, someone can school me on this. How does it work? you are thrusting and maintaining balance with one hand, and recording with the other hand, dividing concentration between your device, to get a perfect shot, and your partner at the same time? or someone is in the room doing the recording? how does that shit even work?

Sometimes, I feel sorry for people, especially young people who have not woken up to the fact that one of the prices to pay in our digital world is that we have lost the ability to correct our mistakes and make up for the past. Once your actions have been digitalized and stored in a device with cloud access, just consider it gone, there is no privacy at all, not even end-to-end encryption. decades to come, the clip would still be somewhere cooling off and replayed, if necessary, eliminating their chances to hold public posts, and for their future descendants to see, there is a reason why porn stars (not prostitutes) have a higher rate of suicide, and it is not because of their numerous and ungodly sex, but have to do with the fact that the whole world has access to clips that will be forever available. People in private do more shitty things than pornstars, just so you know.

My condolence to them and this should be as a wakeup call to others doing or planning to do so. A foolish man learns from his own mistake, a wise man learns from other's mistakes.

Those kids thought they were adventurous but now they know that any secret recorded on a device you have no control over, will be leaked. They are wise now.

Whatever you don’t want anyone to see, don’t create it.

Distroy their chances of getting a job you say? oh my god here we go again.

now let me use this story that happened some few years ago. Seth Rollins, I sure some of you know this guy, he's a professional wrestler. Seth Rollins nude pics got leaked by his ex girlfriend but the dude is still working for the WWE. and I've heard several stories of civil servants or whatever living in a sensible climate who's got their sex tape leaked and you still see them working. it's not like it's two adults making a video of killing someone or something.

seth rollins is a celebrity and can do what he likes, these can also help him become more popular just like kim kardashian, if you are celebrity you can do whatever you like.

the two babcocks students are ordinary Nigerian student, depending on their parents for survival, they are educated and will like to get a professional job after graduation, when they apply for job anywhere in this world, employers would love to do background checks on them and if they found this, they might not be given the job

your employer can sack you if any sexual scandal is known about you online.

Smh.

I know we'll come to this.. but where are we heading as humans?

I think we should stop trying to defend immorality and call a spade a spade.

If there was nothing like 'indecency' the word indecent wouldn't have existed. So, what is indecency?

Calling those who are against the act hypocrites is just an attempt to justify immorality.

If yhu think everyone above 18 is big enough to be responsible for his or her actions then they should be big enough to handle the consequences of their actions.

Isn't funny how immorality is fast becoming the norm these days? That we always find a way to defend every silly act and rather cast aspersions on the character of those condemning it is a huge concern.

No one preaches against premarital sex anymore because the world now sees it as "normal" and nothing wrong with it, not even the display of nudity we see everywhere these days.

Nothing sets free like the truth, until we all embrace the truth consequences of our actions will keep hunting us.

More disturbing is the kind of youths we are breeding now, youths who will intelligently defend any kind of immorality and call those against it all sort of names.

Please, think about it again, imagine if the guy and lady involved had abstained from such act and have seen it as something to never even attempt, yhu know we wouldn't be here talking about it now, huh?

Unfortunately, they are already facing the consequences, more scary is the future ahead of them......

No matter what yhu type here won't change the view of sane society about them....yhur opinion has been expressed but it can never change anything not even the huge regret they are soaked in right now.

This is my own opinion and I don't give a damn about what anyone will say about it.
