This is just a summary of my "struggling academically".
I didn't want to post this at all, until I achieve my GOALS but I just have to say it to boost your morale or someone's else morale.
Unn/Unilag/Oau geology has always been my dream institution!
I graduated from secondary school in 2013(16 years).
Wrote my first utme that year, had 183,applied for U. I geology, automatic disqualification,U.i bench cut off is 200,applied for Yabatech post utme had 50/100,OLUWO(A well known lecturer,I think in building department is my dad's close friend would have successfully processed my admission ,my dad said his only son can never go to a polytechnic!
2014-had 192,applied for Oau, cut off again, was advised to change to Funaab or Unilorin ,I changed to Funaab, two weeks to Funnab post utme, Funaab used 200 that year, I was not eligible for post utme. Laspotech was a No! (My son cant go to polytechnic).
I hustled money, travelled down to Adeyemi to write her post utme I had 66% but I was not admitted for nce because I had wrong subject combination.
2015- had 196,applied for Unn geology, I was so scared, I wasn't too sure if Unn would use 180 like 2013 and 2014 because on a "Norm";Unn bench cut off mark had always been 200.
After series of prayers I changed to Aau Ekpoma (Geophysics),wrote post utme;passed department cut off, was admitted to study geophysics. I'm sure you have heard of this popular saying "Your body can be somewhere and your mind is totally absent".it was my case in Aau Ekpoma. ☺
2016-I didn't write utme, I was in school, funny enough, that was the year post utme was scraped, hence;all schools conducted screening!
2017- April 28 or 29th(I dropped out),when I was in 200level;a week earlier, I locked myself in my room (my lodge) I kept thinking about dropping out....you know how I got the money for my house rent? I carried red sand ☺ alongside one of my guy in Futa during the holidays!
After I got home, my parents, my dad friends, my pastor tried convincing me, I said no, I used the fact that our school fees was increased from 41k to 112k as an excuse, my dad's friend said he was going to pay. No! was my answer!
2017-That same year,I took utme form, had 235 and applied for Unilag geology !
You know the previous year, no post utme-it was only screening, so I used 2016 method to calculate my aggregate score, it was 60.00 and the previous year cut off mark (catchment for Ondo state was 60.50) so I was not willing to take the risk because I know Unilag, I don't want story of "had I known"......I changed to Oau geophysics, I didn't read at all, my utme score freaked me and I felt "no post utme "......
to cut the long story short, I wrote post utme and I had 18/40 where I needed a minimum of 19/40 because my o level was 6 points, or assuming my o level was 7 points, I would have gained admission because Geophysics cut off mark is 50% and my aggregate was 53.4% but I was not eligible for admission (Oau aspirants 2017 would understand better). I told my dad and he was like, why is it so difficult for you to gain admission, do anything you like. Ado-Ekiti poly, Fuoye and Adeyemi college of education affiliated to Oau were the only schools available. I can't drop out of a University and go to a poly, so I didn't bother about Ado Ekiti poly. Fuoye is the most expensive federal school and I don't even like the school, so I just applied for Adeyemi, I wrote the post utme and had 54%,my name was no 1 on the merit list (physics education). I went with the intention of writing jamb again and applying for Oau geology and running both schools at the same time. Unfortunately, I lost interest in the school when they increased the school fees from 30k to 60k,and when I heard that after graduation; I'll have to wait for one year been mobilised for service (Nysc) ......#60,000 for physics education, one year after service..... I had only paid my acceptance fee and written first semester exams without paying my school fees,so I felt it was not worth it at all. I was not the only one planing to switch to Oau In my department, we were about 8 ☺ .
My utme score was 220.I wrote futo post utme for writing sake to know how prepared I was for Oau post utme; I did not bother checking it because if I had performed very well,I would not love to read for Oau post utme since I did not read for Futo post utme and at the same time, I felt If I failed...... I would be scared to write Oau post utme. I wrote Oau post utme after two weeks of non-stop reading..... I had 55%,I was eligible for admission, I was so happy, 11 days after..... I packed all my luggage and left Adeyemi. Unfortunately, Oau merit cut off mark for geology was 60% and only faculty of science refused to release catchment cut off mark that year. Lo and behold, it was a wasted year.
Came back to Lasgidi, square one !
Oh, lest I forgot,my kid sister got admitted to study ***** in Oau that same year,my utme and post utme score was better than hers! And guess what?
It was her first utme and post utme, the age difference between us is more than 5 years. ☺
So, if there has been any mistake I made so far in my life,I would say it was 2018 because my aunty has legit connection in Oau,I didn't bother to give her my credentials because I was overwhelmed/ overconfident as if my father was the V. C (I actually did it out of pride and cowardice).
I was the one that even sent all my sister's documents to her, I'm not sure it would cost me anything if I had just forwarded mine also.
I felt Oau geology has never been competitive.
I know three other guys that had 54,56 and 59.5 %,the four of us were not admitted.
2018 admission was very tough.
2019-when I thought the battle was over!
Utme score was getting it's not always easy to be working and reading, at times, you read and it's like nothing is entering the brain.
Had 219.
Same Oau geology department, I WAs sacred initially,So I applied for geophysics, 30 days to post utme, I went to change it back to Geology . ☺
After vacating work for two weeks, I spent my last two weeks before post utme in (Oau chemistry Oven, Geology department reading and reading, even those ICAN students were like, all these post utme candidates should calm down na.
Oau post utme was tougher than I expected, when I saw the chemistry questions, I was like Hahan , Oau Kilode, did I offend you guys before !
I had 17/40 when I needed 19/40 because my o level is 6.6 or assuming I had 8 points in my o level, I would have gained admission.
Due to the fact that momma is actually very worried , I couldn't change to Lautech and Eksu geology, I can't afford it.
For the very first time in my life, I thought about studying geology in another school/state.
I gave up on Oau geology.
I almost changed to Usman danfodio University, Sokoto State(Geology),unfortunately, their portal wAs closed.I was even scared of traveling that far, almost out of Nigeria.
Funny enough ,I don't think Udusok geology is accredited for this year most of them that applied have been transferred to geography!
When I saw Unizik (Geology and geophysics) and Unical (Geology) cut off mark, U. I geology cut off, I was just crying .
Sincerely speaking, if I had known that Oau geology will f**k me up this year, I would have applied for any good school geology, at least, I would have preferred it to Funaab physics.
I had just Uniabuja physics left, my Uncle said no!
Miraculously, Funnab extended her post utme registration, I changed from Oau to Funaab physics .
September 22, I was 22,my post utme (Funaab) was on the 23rd,but (I can't kill myself ; I still flexed oh, book keh )
God having his way, got admitted to study Physics in Funaab on the merit list!
My secondary school mates, my juniors have even finished their Nysc, even some that did predegree, my friends in Aau(would be going for Service anytime soon).
Oau geology is madt, Hah!.. they have saddists, you must use extra years, yes I know, that's what I want ! That's where my heart lies ☺
People that have graduated from Oau geology, I knew where they are today!
God has brought me this far, I know he still has better plans for me.
So, young man, if you want to apply for Law and get it once, I'd advice you pick any of Unilag, U. I,Unizik,Unical because if you meet cut off mark, you will definitely be admitted.
But,its been God's grace so far!

I completed University this year. But within me, I feel i am not that much good in mathematics.
Last night in picked mathematics textbook from primary 1 to 6 to start all over again and build a solid foundation.

I am seeing myself as a mathematician in the nearest future.

Am 26 years old.

Not too old to start
Love your motivation.

Allow me tell a tale to reply.. To the question

1. The old man who acted in the matrix trilogy acted the top three films of his career at when he had almost considered retiring, at almost about 70 years

2. A British woman, a grandma was trying to swim across the Atlantic to make a world record. As she was engaging in the act, the tides became so strong, that she gave up, when she was pulled out of the water, she noticed she was just 15 minutes away from her desire. Guess what she did, she tried again the second year, when she reached around the same spot she experienced a tide, she thought it to herself as a challenge and put more effort. She ended up making it. When she came out, she said never too old to chase your dream. She was around 60-70.

Obasanjo became president at an old age

Point is, you're the one checking your performance against the calendar. If no one has placed limitations on you, don't place them on yourself.

Go for it. I have cousins signing up for medicine even at 25. So you're not too young, not too late. You're where you're ready to be to make the most of your life experiences towards your objective

And do remember, life's a process, just like a bicycle, to maintain balance, we must keep moving

Smiles ☺ my father always remind me about something "Those that do know their God, they shall be strong and they shall do exploits ".......he's always giving me a reminder that so long as I don't have "sin " in my life, the devil can never defeat me. No pain no gain, quitters never win and winners never quit. It's a phase of my life, by God's grace, soon I'll cross that stage and start another phase of life....... the future is bright for a man of prayer and for those who believe in the power of their dreams.

If you go back to school it just mostly 4 or 5 years ,well whether you choose to go or not the 4or 5 years would still pass ,so it’s your decision Bro ,choose wisely.
