Expected because he was their second choice behind Emery but in my opinion another spanish whose natural instincts are about forward play only is remarkably foolish especially when the heavens are aligned for the appointment of a certain Ancelotti whose gameplay has been proven to be well rounded, good forward play and strong defence and in him lies a fatherly figure that can be strict against slopiness amd comforting in difficulties.

The thing is not about coaching... the problem is actually from the need to 'reset'.

By reset, I mean that Arsenal need to 'taste' at least one or two years in the English Championship to get them hungry again for success or top level football.

Some deluded fans will understand sooner or later that only a small part of the problem is the manager/head coach, but the biggest problems are the bunch of weak and underperforming players as well as the board/owners.

I don't see any major difference Arteta will make but I welcome him and I hope they back him. The squad needs a complete overhaul!

Those players are not at prime level, no arguments... But, most people said the same about the kids at the disposal of Olé and Lampard earlier in the season.

Put those Arsenal players I listed into the hands of Pochettino, Nagelsmann, Erik ten Hag, or Chris Wilder and see wonders.

Success in coaching is not always about all round big names... Sometimes, you have to get the best from what you have.

I agree with you that at least half of that squad has got to go, with new additions and tweaks.
