You are correct privacy is vital. But it is a pity that many in the group don't have any idea of what privacy connotes. In the group someone in the rank Prof or Deputy Registrar will make a post and a junior level 2 officer will attack him as if they are on the same level and the admins more than often look away from such lack of decorum. Apart from this, there are battalions of non tertiary institutions staff who have infiltrated the group perpetrating frauds, and posting unfounded information to the curiousity of thousands of members of the group. Please house, what is minimum wage and what is consequential adjustment. I read from NAAT release that they met IPPIS director and he said minimum wage has been implemented on our salary remaining consequential adjustment. |

Minimum wage is applicable to staff earning below 30k minimum wage benchmark. Consequential adjustment is for those earning above. The consequential adjustment will be done based on percentages for different levels |

I read the said NAAT release on the Telegram group and I discovered that the person who took the minutes of the said meeting of NAAT with the Director of IPPIS, confused the two terms new minimum wage and consequential adjustment of new minimum wage to mean different things while in actual reality they mean the same. The two terms mean the same thing but it is differently applied to staff on different grade levels. The new minimum wage of 30k was adjusted in relative percentages for staff above grade level 6. Therefore for this category of staff, it is referred to as consequential adjustment. But for staff below grade level 6, no adjustment was required as they are directly paid the 30k new minimum wage increase. The consequential adjustment of the new minimum wage has been implemented for all staff above grade level 6 but the heavy tax regime and other deductions introduced by IPPIS have swallowed the increase of the consequential adjustment adewale4jesus: |

The Federal Government has raised the alarm that some individuals are determined to sabotage the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS). Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) is believed to have saved ₦361 billion that could have been paid to corrupt civil servants. The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) raised the alarm on Sunday in a statement from Abuja. The OAGF was reacting to reports that it had paid Armed Forces their April, 2020 salaries. According to the OAGF: “The Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) Department in the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation confirmed that as at Friday 8th May, 2020, the Armed Forces personnel had been paid.” The OAGF said the delay “in the salary payment was due to the unexpected lockdown in the country which led to late submission of variations by the Agencies concerned and the need to accommodate their inputs in the April payroll accordingly.” It was alleged that the April 2020 salaries of military and paramilitary personnel was delayed “as a result of incapability and inexperience of the operators of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS).” However, “officials of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) had given assurance that the salaries would be paid between 4th and 8th May, 2020” before the allegations became public. The OAGF lamented that “such report has the potency to incite the Armed Forces and the general public against the operations of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS).” It added that “staff of the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) and the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) are competent professionals who have demonstrated the will and capacity to get the job done. This the OAGF noted that is “despite distractions and opposition from some quarters whose objectives is to sabotage the government policy that has saved the nation over N361 billion.” |
