Over the course of the 12 days break given by the school for Christmas and New year holiday the accommodation given to corpers by my PPA (a government school) got robbed. Property of mine was carted away including a laptop, shoes, gas cooker and other valuables. Including the property of other corpers residing in the school.

What provision has the NYSC made for such kind of occurrences as the PPA seems to be doing all possible to avoid taking responsibility.

Sorry about your experience... Unfortunately, I doubt if there's any provision by NYSC for it

The room I was given got burgled last year too, late December. Just so disheartening bro. Although I got lucky somehow cos I took my laptop to a friend's room before I traveled but the things that are important to me got stolen. The thieves will soon meet their Waterloo

so sorry, I don't think there is insurance on property theft during NYSC service .
I'm suggesting if it is a village school, you can report to the village head they can help in recovering the items as they know most of the guys capable of doing such within the community.

If I may ask, what provision do you expect from nysc in cases like this? As in, provision addressing burglary of corpers lodge. (It is actually burglary, not robbery).

For sure, you don't expect compensation from nysc, otherwise all corpers will end up getting same even if there were never robbed.

So, the security of your personal items is your business.

Why would you leave your laptop in your PPA?
