Late Mr Akindele was a very good man though very strict. He was a disciplinarian who took no nonsense. You know disciplines in those days are seen as wickedness today. As a pastor and principal, he was a role model to so many people most especially to the students under his care.
He wanted his kids to be like him and to be an example to what he teaches or rather preaches.
Trouble started when his daughter...

You really knew him. He was a good man and everyone loved him. I've known him since the days of Keme Balogun College and his kids really looked like him, especially Funke.

Yeah! Probably extended families insisting on a particular date which may not be comfortable with them

The children in question are adults they may have thier reasons , whether acceptable or not ...
BTW men should learn to care for thier children , gone are those days when you let your wife suffer to take care of the kids , and you tell yourself , that the children would come to look for you in the future after they are accomplished . Any body tries that with a child like me , you'll be finished , i totally would have nothing to do with you even if you come back yourself to beg ...take care of your kids , cos if you don't , there's always a repercussion you wouldn't like or expect ..
I'm not saying that's what happened in funke's case , I'm just putting this out !
Yeah but unfortunately men don't listen

I had a course mate who his father divorced his mother when he was 2yrs old. The man ignored him and his mother, the mum was a nurse, she struggled to bring this smart dude up, guess what, he was the best graduating student of my set then. 4.88CGPA, chemical engineering.

The young man visited his father who now have 5 other kids with another woman, invited his father to his convocation, he said he want to show his father what he became without him.

On the convocation ground, when the boy was called up, two instant employment from two oil servicing company, the boy's father started crying he knelt down started begging the boy and his mother in the eyes of the public. The boy asked him to stand up hug his father and told him, ur REJECTION was my MOTIVATION.

The last story I heard about him, was that when his father was dying he willed all his properties to the young man, asking him to share it among his other siblings, because he is the only one he can trust, that he showed him what a failure of a father he is.

What am I trying to point out, we should learn to pay evil with kindness, it is the greatest joy anyone can get.

Ur parents are ur parents, come what may..... I will always treat them with kindness no matter what, because that is the kind of legacy I want to leave for my own kids

Hmmm you haven't met some wicked father who won't still even feel remorse talkless of willing his properties to his offsprings. Black people generally are extremely wicked baboons. So many of you had a fair treatment. I don't wish my enemy the things I've experienced In life hmmm. It's the reason why I don't think I will ever marry, talkless of breeding. Someday I'll put the story of my life to pen and paper...

That's what happens when you're busy chasing money, fame and career at the expense of your aged parents who need care and love. Those who have relocated abroad among the siblings obviously are yet to settle down as they probably have not got all their papers and that's one of the disadvantages of relocating. My friend's dad died he cried his heart out overseas because he couldn't come home. He had only got his temporary work authorisation permit and anyone in that category would understand what It means. Once you leave that country, forget it. You cannt enter again. On funke akindele's part, omo to ba maa je asamu, ati kekere l'oti maa senu shamushamu. Whites could travel a long distance to see their parents, no matter what could be keeping them busy

Before Nigerian youths should make people their mentor or be fan to all these celebs, they should do their checks very well because most of them exhibit some character not worthy of emulation. Dubai is just a few hours away. What could have got her so busy to neglect the rites of her late father? That's shameful of her and I know in her usual habit, she would still come on social media soon for cover up. I'm not surprised though. I dont expect someone who lied about her pregnancy to her gullible followers and fans to be so well-behaved. Anyone close to funke wouldn't want to even hear her name being mentioned around them again. Even her late dad did she meglect , she doesn't care about her mum also. What a wayward lifestyle.

Ask their mother if she's available, if not, ask the ansentee 4 what she told them about their father. I heard of woman who turned all her 7 children against their father, by telling them he wanted to use them for money ritual but she refused and left him. The man reverted to bachelorhood and even in his old age the children, then grown ups, never saw reason to have anything to do with their dad. Sometimes it may not be the mother who's the culprit, but a babalawo or a useless "man of god".

Sometimes the father is the culprit. In your story of the kids never reaching out to their father, what stopped the father from reaching out to his kids if he was responsible. Growing up, there were several times I sulked and would avoid my dad. He would always look for ways to break the ice. That is what a father should do and not wait for his children to come looking for him.

I still find it difficult to reconcile what Funke wrote to break the news of her father's demise with her absence from the burial. She made it look as if she was heartbroken. Now this.

All my mums kids except me lives in the UK. Yet, they all came for my mums burial last year in Ondo town.

Did their dad offend them? Daughters especially weep at their dads graveside. In life, we reap what we sow!

Oga, care all you want for your children, if them wan sideline you, they'll do it without flinching. Megan Markle, the American lady that got married to Prince Harry was a daddy's girl. Even she confessed with her mouth how her father supported her with every small connection he had as a small-time director, fueled her car regularly when she was going for auditions, now he has been estranged. He wasn't even invited to her wedding. It happens everyday.
Men should learn to make provisions for themselves at old age, because it seems like when it comes to this marriage and child-bearing thing, the women always have the upper hand by a mile no matter how much you slave.

No matter whatsoever the Late Father might have done, he will still remain their Father, hmmmmmmm it's well with the soul of the Late departed soul, I vehemently know that their Mother has a 100% hand in all these happening, no problems, God is a very good and just Creator, the very good thing is that the married one's among them are already having Children, and the yet to be married will also by the special grace of God will also have their own children when they get married, let us wait and be watching what will be the end of all of them, as for their wicked and inhuman mother, her end here on earth will definitely be so miserable that she will every regret given her useless and cursed children such a disgraceful decision to take at their Father last journey. Bastard children, Awon OMO Ale jati jati. AYO ati Idunu a ji na si gbogbo yin ati Iya weere ti o si ma ko ba yin. Eleribu Dede.

You may be right but it doesn't apply in all situations. Did you know without funke akindele's dad, she wouldn't have had the opportunity of becoming who she is today? I know them in ikorodu back in the days. This man single-handedly worked out her daughters successful audition in the NTA's enlightenment and family-oriented show of the 90s called I Need to Know, sponsored by the United Nations Population Fund in which she was starred as Bisi. This was what brought funke to a limelight. No matter what my dear, our parents should be dare to us. Her dad was so influential in the lagos state ministry of education back in the days. He was one of the most qualified and exposed teachers then so this gave him the opportunity of featuring her daughter in the tv series.. What is bad doesn't have 2 names than BAD. Some of us admire some people without even knowing them closely to decipher their character.

But funke and her siblings live in Nigeria na.

It is written up there that they all relocated, Funke is in Dubai.
Probably, deliberately not to attend the program. It they are here, they shouldn't have been able to defend themselves.

When she had issues with the former husband, the man exposed her that her mother was ejected from a two bedrooms flat, not until then did she get her mother a house. She married JJC without inviting her parents and she has never shown any picture of her so called children with her parents.
Seems she is non challant.

Clear and simple! Any man who deliberately dodges family responsibilities towards his children should be left to suffer pain and want at old age so that others can learn from his youthful idiocy. What you sow, you should reap! Emotions and sentiments can take a bus ride to hell! sad

I hear you and I think that’s commendable. However, I’m not saying he did not do anything for his kids. I’m simply saying if there’s a break in communication, nothing stops the dad from acting as a bridge.
