They arè not his children let their mother tell the family who their real father is.

No matter how bad or stubborn your dad is he is your dad unless you are a bastard.

That funke of a lady before I used to like her but when I somehow get close to her pals and profiled her up I wasnt too impressed.

Funke na wah for you oo so you still carried your arrogant to these level? I'm sure funke will come out to say oh the man abadoned them.blabla then what did your mum did that will make a man to abadon his kids I guess the man realised he is not their biological father. Full stop.

Every men in the house pls go for DNA on your kids before you get mess up when alive or dead.

So because the man had issues with the mum is enough reason to abandon them abi, since you are alleging that he is not their biological father so why will they come to the burial of a stranger

The children in question are adults they may have thier reasons , whether acceptable or not ...
BTW men should learn to care for thier children , gone are those days when you let your wife suffer to take care of the kids , and you tell yourself , that the children would come to look for you in the future after they are accomplished . Any body tries that with a child like me , you'll be finished , i totally would have nothing to do with you even if you come back yourself to beg ...take care of your kids , cos if you don't , there's always a repercussion you wouldn't like or expect ..
I'm not saying that's what happened in funke's case , I'm just putting this out !

You are absolutely right, men should face theirs wives and children because you stand to gain at old age before one family idiot will put the blame on their mum

That's one of the reasons why a man should always behave like a man by having more than a wife. My own opinion tho

You can't handle a wife under your roof you ate clamoring for more than one

Who among your wives are you answerable too

Who among the wives will tell her children that your father cares more of the other woman than her

And you think the children will embrace their father ❓

Best option, marry one wife love her and her children will respect you till you enter grave

No matter what the man did to them while he was alive, atleast he’s no longer breathing, all 4 of them can’t be So busy that none of them could come for their father’s burial, which kind carrier be that?
Something isn’t right but it’s a family thing they will settle it noni

In as much as I don't support what the children did, can't you see its a clear case of teamed agreement by his children

For all the children to team up , then it's a long thing

That's funke for you grin. I haven't even read this before I posted my earlier comment.. Her fans would understand who she truly is later. There was a time I commented on her twins pregnancy and people rained abusive words on me. We seem to attach emotions to a lot of things in Nigeria. This is the lady I know very well. A local adage says...Bi iro ba lo logun odun, ojokan l'otito maa ba. Funke that I know very closely wouldn't have got pregnant without showing her baby bump to the whole world to see first. Let's assume she was hiding the pregnancy from the village people as some people would call it,what about months after the twins have been successfully given birth to? I rest my case . Gbam!

There's nothing to rest your case on. Gbamest!
The first pregnancy of twins she had that I and the world saw, she lost them in the UK. The second one was closely guarded and remains so. She has never posted the faces of her twins, and that's fine.
Same Funke that some so called prophets were giving prophecies that she will never have children?
Life teaches us all, and she has learnt the importance of maintaining a low profile. She has never publicly been a show off despite her successes.

Sometimes the father is the culprit. In your story of the kids never reaching out to their father, what stopped the father from reaching out to his kids if he was responsible. Growing up, there were several times I sulked and would avoid my dad. He would always look for ways to break the ice. That is what a father should do and not wait for his children to come looking for him.
"several times i sulked and would avoid my dad" - may God forgive you.

Ask their mother if she's available, if not, ask the absentee 4 what she told them about their father. I have heard of a woman who turned all her 7 children against their father, by telling them he wanted to use them for money ritual but she refused and left him. The man reverted to bachelorhood and even in his old age the children, then grown ups, never saw reason to have anything to do with their dad. Sometimes it may not be the mother who's the culprit, but a babalawo or a useless "man of god".

I am in a dillema myself, my dad neglected the whole 8 of us when l was around 10 years, he passed last month. l reside out of the country now, he was coming close to the family since my elder ones picked up financially, burial is next month, I am just beginning to stand for myself , dont know if l should spend from the small money l ve saved to return to naija( return ticket 300k plus, other expenses not included ).

I'd advise you to forgive him. It's not a bad idea if you choose not to go if you weigh the financial options. But forgive and let go. You can't tell me you haven't wronged anyone before. Have a blessed day

The wisest man ever liveth who happens to be king Solomon married many so who am I, a mere mortal not to.
But on a serious note, what matters most is the ability of the man to be a loving and responsible father. No matter what the mama tells the children, one day when they grow up, they'd one day sit and realized it's all lies in as far as the Dad is good to them.

I'm out the country too.

News reaching me says my dad is in critical condition...I hope to hear good news of his death.
I won't go for the burial and I won't send a dime

To be able to avoid a repercussion, ensure you never offend anyone as long as you live because if you do, never expect forgiveness in this life and even after your death

This is one of those children who have bn brainwashed to forever see their father in a bad light by their mother.

My mother never brainwashed me or my siblings.
My father was and is still evil.
If you have sense, you won't make conclusions on a matter you know nothing about.

If i offend someone and my mistake is pointed out to me,I will ask for forgiveness.

A father who sees his children as competition and refused to cater for them, despite having the finances, beats his wife in the presence of their children as a habit for over 26 years, goes to the extent of sending assassins to his only daughter ,taking money she gave to him, her clothes and pictures to native doctors to impoverish her and still cannot see where he was wrong is not a father and can never be forgiven.

Nature is rewarding him now.
It shall never be well with him.
Thanks to God..Where I for be today?

If what you have stated about your father is the way it is, then you have every right as a human being to be angry and hate him with so much venom.

But you see, the way of God is not the way of man. Everything happened has planned by God, and not even the faintest of breathe occurs beyond the divine will. Who knows whether God has decided to elevate you due to the harsh treatments you and your siblings suffered in the hand of your father as a way of compensation.

I hereby use this medium to appeal to you on behalf of myself and other respecters of humanity and sacredness of the bond of kinship to find a place in the corner of your heart to forgive your father despite the enormity of his actions no matter how difficult it might be.

Do this not for your father, but to seek the countenance of God, and watch how your progress continue to exceed your own understanding.

Peace be unto you.

It amazes me why ppl just jump to conclusion.
We r looking at this issue from the outside. No one knows what is happening in their family.

In issues like this why do we always put the blame on the mothers, saying mothers have brainwashed children against their father, this is utterly wrong. Though some mothers do that but nevertheless some fathers too have abused their power & office, FATHERHOOD.

muyinet:

pray not to have a woman who'll turn your children against you regardless of any effort you make. Most stories like this one,...if you look closely, you'll find the hand of their mother behind it.

The solution to issues like this lies not in the man taking care of the children but in how wealthy the man is...if a man is rich enough, he won't have the need to start looking out for a child or children that their mother has brainwashed against you.

The solution is for the man to be rich. Eni to bi'mo, omo lo ma sin, eni ti'o bi'mo, omo na lo ma sin....meaning...if you have children and when death comes, children will bury you and if you don't have any child. you'll still be buried by children. that's the wisdom of the Yorubas for circumstances such as this.

The shame in on Funke and her siblings for abandoning their father even after death.
