What is #CPI ?

A Consumer Price Index (or CPI) is a type of index: a basket of assets whose price is tracked to gain insights into market segments. Examples of indices include the S&P 500, the NASDAQ Composite, and the DJIA (all of which measure the performance of the major stocks).
There’s no single CPI – the term refers to any type of index designed to track the prices of consumer goods, services, and household products. Suppose that we have a basket made up of the following expenses: groceries, hygiene products, travel costs, rent, etc. Basically, we can do this with anything you’d expect the average consumer to spend on.

We’ll note down the total cost of the items in that basket, typically using weighted averages to give more “weight” to more important items. Then we’ll note the year/month/period, too. By doing this at set intervals, we can get an idea of how the index is performing over time.



Why is CPI used?

A Consumer Price Index is a powerful benchmark for measuring developments in the economy. Specifically, it’s used to monitor the impact of inflation or deflation. This is useful for many reasons – governments can gain insights into their monetary policy decisions and calculate how much should be given to those with subsidized incomes.

I saw it crashed to -20% was surprised it pulled back at -12%+ might still recover and go up, there is a Merger with another company which would be finalized by Q4 may be that is why is pulling back. RBT was my focused thinking it would touch 0.54 again

Am actually holding it cos have watched the movement from day one. Once they flog it down during trading it struggle to come back again and finality of their merger with KORRO will push it by Q4 so am holding.

However for stock CFD allows you to sell a stock you don't even own just like inverse/short markets in real stock trading..

For super big guys ooo am not at this level yet but by God grace I go get there, even 500$ can't buy just one Unit but with my less than 400$ bought me my level stock yesterday 1k units and am on 30% already today. PIRS

You don't have to buy the whole unit of NVDA. A fraction is okay. Returns on the money invested.

Technology stocks still look best at a time like this. Yesterday we bought SMCI, other we could have bought are: AEHR,NVDA etc

But buying the likes of TLRY, GRRR(I call this gra gra stock, most penny stocks are gra gra stock), in five years you are likely to be in loss of about 90% of your investment. It will eventually be pushed to OTC, they have lost trust in David the CEO any little push up they will always push it down. I think it would likely scale through this time

STOP LOSS IS GOOD

I was busy with something else, and suddenly today market made a 90 degree about turn from positive to negative. I just checked my wallet and my stop loss has taken me out of some trades. This is fantastic.

Going further, with POWEL speaking tommorow, at Jackson Hole conference. The speech may probable throw the market into a bearish "Hole". So, for today and better part of tommorrow, I want to be in cash!!! 5% Total loss on a portfolio is big. I need some rest!!!

My portfolio collect beating at every angle, mad ooo HLTH came to the rescue of going going to Golgotha. Holding all my stocks while weeding out the major laggards. EGLx gone, i will wait for CGC till Q3 then let while FREQ will also stay till Q4 for Merger finality. So far so good it's been an interesting game and so lovely. TSHA is one of my bear attacking stocks sold so very early after serious wahala to spot out the stock. Anyway win some lose some.

Better to be in cash, and 8f we want to buy, we should focus on quality stocks that are at strong support. In the interim we can find such stocks in tech/oil stocks. We should avoid chinese and Finance stocks temporarily
