This is some revelations which stand to reason on the Corona virus outbreak in China.

It alleges the possibility of it being an enhanced form of the SARS and MERS-CoA virus, being held at the WHO-approved BSL-4 laboratory close to Wuhan.

A lab accident led to the leakage of the virus into the general population and now they have the outbreak.

How come "Lassa" was not renamed ?
.
Re: Coronavirus named ‘Covid-19’ - WHO announces (Video) by Oseniade(m): 7:52pm On Feb 11, 2020
In my opinion, this is biased. Numerous viruses/disease have been named after an individual, geographical location, event etc. Take for instance Lassa fever( a viral disease) is named after Lassa( a geographical location in Borno state, Nigeria). Are indigenes of the place stigmatized because of this? the answer is NO. I believe WHO is not telling the whole truth. The so called 'stigmatization' will eventually fizzle out into oblivion even if there is any iota of truth in their pronouncement.

My collegue came up with this concept what if the CORONA VIRUS is more rampant in cold climates than hot ones...because this Nigeria ehn...make I no talk. But think about it, it became popular during this period and the symptoms are similar to cold symptoms....
Corona Virus has spread to Europe, South & East Asia and Australia

Africa is yet to record a single case of Coronavirus.We hope it never gets here
SARS and Mers also does not really survive hot weather and they are the same family of virus along with the wuhan virus called coronavirus.

Keep quiet! Are you sure your country have even paid their yearly dues to fund U.N and its research agencies, or is waiting for aid from other countries.
Abi you were here when your minister for information open his mouth to tell everyone they will borrow 500million on top our head, so that NTA can broadcast and project our poverty like CNN project American power While the masses remain poor to feed the content of the new NTA?
Please allow people of countries that have sense to name and name what they want. Abi did you see their post when your country renamed terrorists as 'repentant boko haram'? Slap ko, blow ni.

Wuhan and not Luhan.
And there have been pandemic in recent years that's been named after the country/city they broke out. E.g Spanish influenza, Great Plague of London, Great Plague of Marseille, Russian flu etc. So You better stop this mentality that there's something against Africa.

Abeg chill, someone can't say anything again on nairaland without getting a lecture from the "omniknowets", d only important thing I see up there is the Luhan/Wuhan correction which was a simple mistake on my part, you have no idea what my mentality is, so no thanks to you.

On this Convid-19 thing, there are two things involved; it's either that thing is a laboratory error or it was intentionally scientifically generated, if it's the first one then the journey is still far, but if it's the second, then there are two things involved; it's either the powers that be want to depopulate the entire globe (Thanos Style) acording to the New World Order or some Pharmaceutical company want to cash big when they release the vacinne to cure it which I strongly believe they already have. Either way, wahala dey!

This comment section just shows how an average Nigeria man is fighting a deep battle with illiteracy.
Corona Virus is a group of family "Viruses", and the one out there now has been named " Covid19" so as to differentiate from other Corona Virus group, but instead of educating yourself, y'all are making Jokes out of it and asking if it's a naming ceremony.
Smh! Stupidity!

Co = Corona
Vi = virus
D = Disease
19 = 2019, the year of outbreak.

That's what organised countries who have a good attitude to documentation and record-keeping do.

Can you fight something when you don't know its name

100 years from now, they will be able to check the exact name, genome and transmission pattern of this virus, can we say that for all strains of Lassa fever pathogen?
