I wanted to suggest before now that they should introduce CORRUPTION as a course in our higher institutions, but I later realized that we are already into it right from primary school hence no need.
Every sector of our country is corrupt. From education to agriculture, from religion to security. Name it. Only God can deliver this land

Somebody was proposing solutions to Nigeria's problems yesterday BUT completely left out corruption as a problem.

Nothing will work in Nigeria until life imprisonment and death sentence are seen to be imposed and carried out on convicted corrupt elements in both public and private sector.

For example instead of giving him/her 100k to buy reagents why not procure the reagents and give to them to do their research.

You think it this was even developed countries many won't also abuse the process if they're ain't any reliable checks.

What do we expect, someone that has been working for years without the financial capability to buy a bicycle and on getting the grant, the share holders have collected their own share out of the fund to flex......so suffferness is meant for some set of us abi?

I bet that if abroad they didn't monitor spending if research funds , they too will be chopping the money , saints no dey for anywhere

The world should not give any grant to Nigerian lecturers,because Nigeria is a cursed nation.

After collecting money to build houses and buy cars, they will be begging journals to publish their works for $100. Useless academicians.

Well I am not saying that they are free from corruption, they might even be working in cahoots with them.
But I believe this measure will go a long way in stemming the corrupt practices.

at the moment a large part of the citizenry are in a perpetual warm embrace with corruption.

Last year, we read about a footbridge that collapsed in a Nigeria university campus, and I wonder why such tragedy would happen in an higher institution of learning. Where we have trained engineers both past and present, who were suppose to carry out thorough investigation and reconstruction if need be on the bridge before the unfortunate event. Now I realized why it happened. They are obviously being trained by lecturers who would rather use money meant for academic research on buying cars and building mansion.

Nigerians are corrupt

They don't know anything.
