Tell your friend to visit the hospital. May not be a very serious issue. Go and see a health practitioner. Could be dysentery too

Dear House,

A friend called me yesterday that i should come . on getting she told me she was stooling and contain blood.

Thanks for support.

Please let the person get assessment from a qualified doctor, if possible a gastroenterologist (specialist); it could be something simple that can be easily resolved, and it could be an early symptom of colon cancer - which I pray is not the case.

A qualified doctor might run some tests e.g. colonoscopy, please do not take this lightly and act fast.

Best of luck

It could be ulcer.
I've experienced it before, I thought it was pile until I was diagnosed of peptic ulcer, there was even a time it got chronic and I was vomiting blood, very thick blood.

Ulcer symptoms may not come with the usual stomach ache, it may be loss of breathe like an asthma patient.

Please tell her to go to the hospital for better diagnosis, if it's ulcer, in few days time, she'll start getting dehydrated and it's dangerous.
How were you treated in the hospital? What were you given?

I know someone that has gastric ulcer, he is not vomiting blood, but he is weak, dizzy and fatigued which means he could be slowly bleeding internally leading to anaemia.

I don't know about your friend but I experienced same thing last year around August, very reddish painless bleeding though it causes discomfort, according to my research it's called hemorrhoid, if that's the case then she have got nothing to worry about, she should take more water daily and don't force faeces, hot water for bath and eat more less solid foods

It might just be hemoroids or tears from constipation. Tell her to use warm water and salt to wash the area to prevent infection.

However these are signs that it might be more serious.

If accompanied by fever, abdominal painand diarrhoea, could be a bacterial infection of the gut.It could also be due to bleeding from fissures.Fissures could be caused by straining during passage of strong stool.

YOUR PICTURE WAS NOT ATTACHED. THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN HELPFUL.

If the blood were very alarming, you would have said- therefore I surmise that this is early-onset DYSENTERY.

A parasite is feeding on the intestinal wall, causing bleeding.

If the stool is firmly-shaped, it would likely be HOOKWORMS.

If the stool is very soft or liquid with OKRO-SOUP-like Mucus, it would be Bacterial or Protozoic Dysentery.

If it were TYPHOID, your friend should be very ill, including fever and headache.

Since you have not reported that, I suspect Amoeba histolytica or Giardia lamblia- which are easily gotten rid of with Metronidazole (Flagyl).

It is of utmost importance that she not eat or drink anything with sugar in it.

If starchy food can be avoided altogether, that would be great.

Do not try to MASSACRE the Parasite with very high doses of the drug, moderate doses over several days paralyzes the parasites and keeps them from reproducing, until they pass out of the body.

Lots of fresh water- at least four pure water satchets daily- is important.

The best thing to do- especially if there is BLEEDING involved, is always to do requisite Laboratory Tests BEFORE trying any treatment.

ANTIBIOTICS, like PENICILLIN or TETRACYCLINE may get results, but will cause much more trouble down the line, because they kill all the beneficial Bacteria from the Gastro-Intestinal Tract, that protect against more serious things.

Unscrupulous Doctors don't mind prescribing them, because they know that you are going to end up paying their Establishment for at least one more irksome complaint. Never take Antibiotics until BACTERIAL SENSITIVITY TESTS have been done to determine WHICH of the dozen or so Bacteria-killing drugs is the ONE that will resolve your case. In the case of STOOL Infections, that can take five to eight days. Other infections may take no longer than 72 hours.

If the illness if caused by a Protozoan or Helminth, a simple microscopic test will prove it in a few minutes.

But if it is caused by a Bacterium, whereas that will be indicated at once, identifying which Bacterium it is will take days.

Stools are like 70% Bacteria, so it is impossible to identify which one type is causing the trouble- unless it is Cholera.

After the offending Bacterium is isolated, it can take an additional 48 hours to determine which antibiotics will work against it.

There is no known way to hurry this process up.

(I know all this because it is my day-job.)

Your friend has Gastroenteritis.
Tell her to avoid eating papper and drinking Alcohol.
She should eat lots of vegetables....starting with salads.. This will defintely help her.

Note.. She should be careful with Naija doctors because they will definitely give her trial drugs....

Generally, she should avoid hot things, both hot tea and hot foods...
take orange juice everyday... Bro she will definitely going to be fine....
I wish her a quick recovery.

First of all, no need for the picture of a bloody poo sir!

Medically, The condition is called Rectal Bleeding,
It is not peculiar to your friend alone.

Here are some quick solutions we can recommend to you for your friend.
Tell her to...
Drink eight to 10 glasses of water per day.

Bath cry or shower daily to cleanse the skin around the anus.

Decrease straining with bowel movements.

Increase fiber in the diet with supplements.

Avoid sitting on the toilet too long.
(This is very important!)

With all these, she will feel better in few days.
All the very best to her.
And she should go see a Doctor ASAP.

From all of us @ : Get well soon, our friend.

baba him self, d first time i go read something reasonable from ur comment. Abi u don dey get sense atlast?

couldnt see the pictures bfor it was probably taken down.

But blood in the stools could be caused by lot of factors. And the color of the blood tells more about the cause.
1. Is the blood red and fresh?
2. Or dark and old blood?

If its no1 then its probably from lower intestines namely hemorrhoids (pile), or just constipation which stains and stratches her lower GI while she poops

If its no2. It could be ulcer, (worst case scenario cancer.. but quite unlikely cos it's not that common ).

Anyway I can help you better if I know more about ur symptoms
