This reminds me of one igbo girl I met two years ago in Rotterdam, she was a student doing her masters, and she had a Dutch boyfriend that she recently moved in to live with. She was so pissed off at him because he expected her to contribute half of the rent and household spendings.

When they go out, he spends for himself and expect her to spend for herself, and this drives her crazy. The guy is actually a good guy from how she explained him.
