Where I come from, Delta (Urhobo) , no child is illegitimate. Marry the mother or not, we don't leave our children outside, they must bear the man's name and be counted amongst those that will get inheritance.

You are talking nonsense. Customary laws are sacrosanct. Traditional marriage is even more sacrosanct that white wedding.

That marriage has not been properly customarily consumated and remain illegal If Chioma's father drags Davido to court, he will win.

So Chioma’a Father impregnated Chioma that’s why the court will declare him the biological father of the child? Abeg talk another thing jare! Those traditions are outdated and before you go any further I have seen situations where this so called Igbo tradition doesn’t even hold water...

- As an adult, Chioma willingly cohabited with Davido.
- Davido openly declares his love for Chioma in a song titled "Assurance", asking water to carry him away if he jilts her. Eventually, Chioma became pregnant for Chioma.
- Subsequently, both Davido and Chioma's families have formally met and are fully aware that their children intend to marry.
- Davido not only witnessed the birth of Ifeanyi but signed his birth certificate as his father.
- Davido, in the presence of members of both his and Chioma's families, named his son David Ifeanyi Adeleke at a public event.
- Ever since the birth of Ifeanyi, Davido has assumed and performed all necessary paternal duties.
- Currently, Chioma still lives with Davido and gives her body freely to him.

In view of foregoing and given that since the birth of Ifeanyi, no man has surfaced to make any paternity claim, I hereby insist and affirm that Ifeanyi Adeleke is biologically and legally Davido Adeleke's son.
Oga are you through with your analysis?
Pray there is no misunderstanding between them that will lead them to go their separate ways because should that happened, all this your story will be thrown into waste basket while another man will claim that child.

A child doesn't have to be biological to be your son. Davido is currently not more than a sperm donor in the eyes of the law.

I don't know how these guys used to think..

Davido as it stands now is not the rightful owner of that child.

How can you claim a child you've not done anything on the mothers' head.

Chioma's father has greate and 100 percent claim on the child than Davido...........Thats just the MOST STUPID AND SILLIEST fact.

That can only apply to imbeciles under the uncivilised, immoral, and baseless culture. Not so much the way sharia is meant for those under Islamic lifestyle

That's what people dont understand...

Even DNA and facial resemblance dont matter...

DNA doesn’t matter? In what part of the world did you learn this? So it is bride price that determines who is the biological father of a child?

Oh! You would be in pole position to tell him that if there is a reason to do so? Dey put eye for outdated tradition as a basis for court ruling.. that’s how an Igbo lady bore three kids for a relative of mine without bride price; we are still waiting for them to say he’s not their biological father!!!

In actual fact I agreed as per what the culture says so Davido should do the right thing as a man who truly love his fiance BUT to say the son is not Davido son pls bro I'm from.the East I refused to buy that crap because its not provable under any law pls.

Culture stand on its own but the law of the land override any culture regardless. And by the way Davido is not igbo man so such culture might ñot be legally binding on him that much. aAs I said let davido go and marry Chioma officially except there are hidden issues inbetween.

Abiriba1stson:

Please say "some part" of Igboland.

You people should stop using the traditions and cultures in Anambra and Imo states as the traditions of the entire Igboland.

That's not the tradition or culture in my hometown - Abiriba, Abia state. In my hometown, if you impregnated any woman you are automatic the rightful owner of the child.

In Igboland every parts has their own cultures and traditions. We don't have anything like OSU in my hometown. And no barbing of widow's hair.

Your post is totally alien to us because it is a pure lie.

Oga, according to Igbo tradition, it's the man that paid a woman bride price that owns any child she had outside wedlock. Better get your facts right

Claiming another person's child in Nigerian law is impossible unless DNA test says the child is yours? That's it.

Igbo traditions are subject to rule of the law of Nigeria. You can only ĺay claim to a child if DNA test proves the child is yours.

Chai! See desperation strategy on another level! Dem don use Nairalanders tire, dem don go Twitter. How dem dey force man to marry biko!
Nobody forced Adewale to marry Kani, she showed her self worth and dignity, so the guy is addressing her with dignity and self respect. Everything was done accordingly.
NO IGBO family can accept Chioma and NO IGBO man can take her home, so all na desperation.
Igbos use to be mindful of the kind of females their children bring home.
After one, in nudity and alcoholism after 3 months of birth coupled with Perruzzi matter?
Chioma na Shattered Windscreen to Igbo men unless one that wants to use her.

How? Is Davido rightfully married to chioma? Some of you argue to win and not to learn. In Igbo land unless you pay the bride price of a woman you are not the rightful owner of any child you both had. Simple as ABC
qualityovenbake:
Tradition my foot. If Chioma marries president Trump tomorrow, Davido is still the biological and authentic father of Ifeanyi Adeleke.

A while ago, some brilliant igbo girls displaced the inhuman, obnoxious and primitive igbo inheritance traditional laws through the supreme Court judgement
