It would be of great help if the masters in this IT field would recommend perhaps a training institute for beginners who would want to pick up a skill or two. I'm aware of a couple of online sites that can help. Sometimes it gets boring learning by self & at your own comfort. I wouldn't mind a mentor. 1 Like 1 Share |

bikerboy1: It’s actually the environment/work place that determines the salary personnel gets. 750k or above is a very common salary in the oil & Gas industry. What do they do? It could be any job role from IT to field operations, marine operations, SAP users at different levels. People dey collect money abeg. I know of a guy in Portharcourt who earns 90k /day that’s his day rate. While others in the same company earn from 15k - 80k/day. Imagine the guy that earns 90k, multiply that by an average of 22days . He works on weekends some times , that guy gets a minimum of N1.98M/month and gets higher when he works weekends. Guys don’t allow poverty condition our minds to the point that we see 750k as not possible. I repeat: it is a common salary in certain industry. Na for you to just get the opportunity to work in such an environment. And when you do, you will definitely deliver, because you get trained on the job. Except your village people are after you. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Casanye: And you think am not contented with what I have? An you don't believe that some people don't want to be like Dangote. If everyone dreams to be like Dangote, who will teach your children? My dream is to return to a happy home. The home can be a hut but as far as I am contented, my wife is contented, my children will learn to be contented, what more can I possibly want? A private jet? For what? I don't subscribe to dreams, I subscribe to a career, to happiness, to a life that will not drive me cheat, steal or kill to make the dreams come true. Yahoo boys have big dreams, to what end? 3 Likes 1 Share |

philip0906:ofcourse, we all know someone who got whipped up from linkedln or somewhere abroad, it's not a news flash. And yes if one keeps upgrading himself like I said, you stand to earn higher income. it's simply means you are more valuable than before. However the notion I am reading here that if one picks up some scripting languages in 18months he can be on his way to 500k or 750k is far from reality. That sentence cuts across a very small data set in nigerja. Success takes Time and Hardwork and that's my message. Not to forget that some of these programmers or IT guys who earn close to 1million or more don't always know as much as you think they know. They are not really the Ronaldo's of the industry or the Messis in the coding ecosystem in the country, some just found grace/luck to be at that position. Bro guys are out there hungry and armed with skills waiting for the breakthrough that will land them these big bucks Put them side by side with some of these programmers earning 1million and above and they will crunch them for dinner with knowledge. And it cuts across other IT fields too not just programming. Life isn't always white/black, it isn't always 1+1 = 2. However I still maintain the fact that if one keeps advancing his knowledge in RELEVANT FIELDS that are in demand overtime he will hit the top But it may take time and not as quick as most people are painting it to be (1yr/18mnths) That's my point sire. 3 Likes |

chukzyfcbb:Ofcourse only a FOOL will expect to learn code and within few months start earning millions. Like every other thing, there's a ladder to climb and sequence to follow. The only guarantee you have learning and knowing how to code, is you have an in-demand skill which can put you on that trajectory to eutopia. There are so many freelancer devs earning a decent living and footing their bills without any contract jobs or full time jobs (very few fields out there avail such). My point was that there's no dent of luck needed by skilled devs to make the big bucks because their skill is in demand, under supplied and the future. 2 Likes |

lolybaby:Amen. While you are waiting for that good job, my dear try to raise cash as little as 50k. What for? You are about to start a journey into the world of no more lack. Just do a little market research on Facebook or online: use the following niche: fashion(clothing , shoe, bag), health (waist trainer, slimming tea, flat tummy, skin toner, teeth whitener) etc the list is endless. Please do a good research so you can identify hot in demand products. Make a pick and then boom start your online business. Go online: Use AliExpress, register , search well for good seller with a good price and good reviews Buy like 30k worth of product. Use the rest to do ads and campaign. Facebook campaign, Social media campaign etc If you have enough resources you can register a domain. Then you can develop a sales page or landing page - which talks about your product. Add a payment processor, then start promoting this page on Facebook or anywhere online. Please if you don’t have the resources, just do an attractive sales copy with a link to your WhatsApp or tg group where prospective customers can get to communicate with you to place their order. Yours is to follow up and fulfill that order. Note: No one is giving you a guarantee of 100% success rate. But what I can guarantee you is that you will add to your knowledge in the process, you will push yourself in the process , you will learn the art of trading through e-commerce in the process, and most importantly if heaven smiles on you your products will be hotly demanded for and you will be in money. Please ensure you follow up your prospects and keep the testimonies as this will help drive more sales. Try to satisfy your customers. Never be tempted to scam anyone. There is so much resources and wealth to be gotten online. Don’t mess it up. One satisfied customer will get you 10 more. Note: It’s my first time out on this journey too. I have learnt so much in the process. I am no more where I used to be. Less I forget, China is our primary source of supplies. With the current challenge posed by Covid-19/Corona Virus, there is a little slow down now. Rugged guys like us are not deterred, We are still buying and selling. Delivery might be slow tho. This is just for your additional knowledge. Good luck. 4 Likes |

Casanye:It's not that different my dear because you are usually not the only only selling what they want to buy. If a client requests you presence 7am, you dress up and meet up. If you don't another sharp person steals your customer. In business, you are under the whims of your customers or else they run to your competitors. You give them what they demand or else they port. Mtn had to start per second billing after Glo started it if not they lose customers. 3 Likes |

iamJ: And why do you see his statement as bragging. The young man simply stated the obvious. A year ago he was working for someone, now 5 people are working for him. Whatever amount he pays them is immaterial. At least he is helping some people feed and have a reason to wake up and get going daily. And that’s the fact of his present reality. This is his truth. What is your truth. Don’t keep responding to posts as if you are pained or envious. I was almost supporting you but with every post you keep revealing the hateful intention settled in your innermost being. Repent sir. Be happy for others. To start with why would you even start thinking 750k is a big deal or that the OP’s story is flawed? 3 Likes |
