The reason is almost everyone is not happy with their grades except those with first class because of how Nigeria Universities are. For NYSC certificate people are happy about it.. For me, its more important than grades.

But have you seen where anyone displayed their first class certificate?

Because in this country some day someone will say you do not serve yourself fatherland that you cannot be governor

I don't think it's because of some people stupidity but to me for security purpose,especially in later future when someone might come with argument that you didn't participate in NYSC or ur possess a fake certificate. You can then bring out the pic posed with the certificate.ask bunmi Adeosun and others in NYSC certificate saga.LOL

The truth is Degree Certificates are not gotten instantly unlike NYSC certificate given the day of POP. Some of us haven't even collected our original degree certificate five years down the line. How do gou expect us to flaunt it? We can only flaunt a certificate that's closer and that's NYSC certificate which you can't get if you've not gotten your first degree

It's a lie. You are already a graduate before NYSC. You only complete your National Service for Nigeria through NYSC.

This is not true. U become a graduate the moment ur degree is confered on u.

They flaunt it cos it has no grade, first class and third class become equal.

Before you get the degree certificate from school, you for don marry sef (Exxagerating). Besides you pay for the certificate, do clearance and stress yourself before u get it but NYSC is stress free and given to all corp members passing out on the same day.

If you don’t partake in NYSC, you are not a graduate.
