Yeah generally PCR is the definitive tool for the detection of respiratory viruses. Even if it's a copy of the virus, it'd be amplified into millions of copies that can be easily detected.

Yeah you're right, a lay man doesn't even know what PCR is so not to confuse with the reverse transcriptase we'd want to add to the PCR.

Interesting analogy. So if I get you right, the numbers are low in foreign countries not because we are immune but proportionately speaking, we are also fewer in number?

Here is where your logic is flawed. If this disease isn't selective, then the morbidity/mortality rates should mirror the distribution of the individual races in a geographic area. This isn't the case here hence the reason we are all wondering why that is. Care to explain?

Am not in the biological Field but what I know is that our body produces some kind of antibodies when we get infected, and this antibodies somehow help us to combat the virus untill we no longer secrete the virus in our body.
At the point of infection we could take antiviral medicine to slow down the rate at which the virus reproduce in our body. And our immune system do the remaining work.

The Chinese govt uses what we call the curban antiviral drugs. Basically any good antiviral drugs will do
