A man who was allegedly rumoured to be a carrier of the dreaded coronavirus in Kenya was lynched by some youths. Mr George Kotini Hezron was attacked with stones while on his way home after visiting a bar in the village of Msambweni in Kwale County before the attacked yesterday. He sustained degrees of injuries as he was rushed to the hospital where he passed on.

There were suspicions of him having the virus and the mob decided to pounce on him as he moved along on his way home at around 9pm, Wednesday March 18 2020.

The mob of vigilante had questioned Kotini and accused him of having the dreaded disease as they threw stones at him, leaving him wounded and battered before running away.
He was rushed to Msambweni Subcounty Hospital where he passed on. 

A County police commander Joseph Nthenge has reported that no one could categorically say if the victim had the virus as it wasnt confirmed through any medical tests and warned against wrong rumours that accuses people to be carriers of the deadly virus.

According a Kenyan media reporter, 'Someone reported that the attackers saw the man staggering. They apprehended him, started an argument and beat him up, before throwing stones at him.

'The deceased man before his demise ran into a group of youths who were said to be members of the vigilante before an argument started as the youths carried out the heinous act.
No has been no record of any known arrests made so far during the filing of this report and and the police has confirmed that investigations are still ongoing as to the culprits involved.
