Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said

"If you hear of an outbreak of plague in a land, do not enter it; but if the plague breaks out in a place while you are in it, do not leave that place."

If mankind had adhered to this advice, the whole world won't be in this mess. Yet, it is the solution adopted by everyone.

For those that are not happy that the message was from the noblest of mankind, you can do yourself a good by kissing a high tension.

If there are only 46 cases in Nigeria, most of whom have a history of travel abroad, why are they doing all this? Shutting down the country doesn’t solve the virus. It only gives more time for the real work: testing, isolation and treatment. So how will essential businesses run without buying things from Lagos?
I quess it is beginning to get to Oga Seun. Nigeria isn't as strong as many of the advanced nations restricting business. Maybe it is time to allow everybody roam and let's test drive our faith.

They are just delaying the recovery period. The only solution is a 21 day total curfew shocked

Oga, how did you arrive at 21 days. Wuhan is the most successful story so far. They are on partial reopening now, not even full opening after being shut down since January, two and a half months ago. No other nation comes near that performance. Can Nigeria shutdown for 2 months and recover unscathed without mass layoffs.

Remember China was growing at 6 percent before Covid-19 with cash reserves of over a trillion dollars. Nigeria on the other hand was seeking to balance her budget with a 20 billion dollar loan and growth barely scratching 1 percent.

How anyone can expect us to recover at the same pace and to the same point as China remains a mystery. It will take us far longer to beat Corona and the lasting damage far deeper. Speaking from the point of realism.

Total curfew is at best a time saving tactic. You still have to test, test, test to find those who have the virus and stop them from spreading it. A curfew without doing that will only slow the spread; it will not stop it. And once the curfew is lifted, the disease will come back.

If there are only 51 cases in Nigeria, most of whom have a history of travel abroad, why are they doing all this? Shutting down the country doesn’t solve the virus. It only gives more time for the real work: testing, isolation and treatment. So how will essential businesses run without buying things from Lagos?
Those cases are only from the batch of less than 100 people that have been tested. Many more people come in thorough our land borders that have NOT been tested.

I even heard that some senators and high-level govt appointees refused to submit themselves to the test, because they felt too big. It took Abba Kyari's infection, to make them realise they too, could have contracted the infection.

The fact that only 51 people have tested positive, does NOT mean we don't have hundreds of thousands of infected asymptomatic COVID-19 carriers that are walking our streets, undetected.

This virus is spread by contact, and through droplets in the air. It lingers on different surfaces, from 3 hours to 4 days. On stainless steel and metal objects, this virus can linger for 15 hours. This means of anyone touches an infected surface, he will get infected.

That is why handwashing and other preventive measures are recommended to get rid of the virus.

The only way to shut down the spread of the virus is to lockdown the city or country, so that it doesn't spread further, and it dies in situ.

Those who are complaining of not being allowed to work, should realise that if they contract the virus from outside and bring it home to their family and friends, they will endanger other lives, apart from their own.

Unless that are willing to move around with sanitisers, disinfectants, thermometers and safety gear as they go about their normal duties, in order to avoid infection, it is NOT advisable for anyone to breach this lockdown.

This virus has claimed far more lives in countries with better and more sophisticated healthcare systems than our own. Even their doctors are dying.

Let us NOT tempt fate. The lockdown will not last forever.
