sydney walker was showing symptoms and they did not respond to him until a cry out online with people calling them all out... that was when they attended to him.. meanwhile davido came back from US and his wife from UK, no symptoms but they got tested, even before sydney walker. una never jam.

I am thankful I know drugs to use should this bastard furk things up.

Sir/Ma neither me nor you can end inequality. It is human nature and it exists in all fabric of society. However, no one has confidently told me that Davido had no symptoms nor has anyone showed me proof that he even got tested. All hearsay.

Coronavirus: A Facebook User’s Experience Of Getting Tested In Abuja

ATTENTION: PRESIDENCY & FED. MINISTRY OF HEALTH

To tell you the truth, NCDC can't do anything for you because they are not ready.
All this PR they are doing they are assuming people will not try that's why.
On Wednesday (25/03/2020) I and a colleague of mine decided we want to be sure of our status before going into #selfisolation.

So we went through the following steps

1. We called the toll free line and after all the normal recorded stories, when we chose to speak to an agent they end the call.

2. We went to University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada, they told us they don't do testing there, that the hospital is only an isolation center. They refer us back to NCDC office in town, told us that's where testing lab is.

3. We drove to NCDC office at Jabi. There are two NCDC offices there in close proximity. The first office told us they don't do testing but they directed us to the second office saying that's where testing is handled.

4. The second office too absolved themselves of that responsibility and directed us to NCDC National Reference Laboratory, Gaduwa.

5. We visited the NCDC NRL. On getting there, the security at the gate informed us that a lot of people were there too earlier in the day and were turned away. That they don't do testing for individuals unless your state took your sample and submit to them.
[urlhttps://beatspice.co][/url]
6.They refer us to a circular posted at the gate and told us to contact the FCT Epidemiology team lead on COVID-19.

7. When I called him I introduced myself by name and then asked him if he's the FCT team lead on this issue. He answered yes. I then asked him how do I go about getting tested. He asked who are you? Who gave you my number? I told him I'm an Abuja resident and his number is on a circular at the NCDC office. He told us he doesn't know. He said we should go to NCDC. I told him but they referred us to you. He was silent. I then asked him to advise us. He told us to go to "National Health Disease Control" which doesn't exist.

I will send a copy of the circular to this forum.

Obviously they are doing selective testing which is dangerous.

It means a lot of people might have been infected already but for lack of testing they are moving about infecting others.

While the information from the official channels are saying people are not coming forth, the truth is that people are going but are been turned away.

And I know because I was turned away first hand.

It also tells you that either the NCDC are lying to us or they are not coordinated at all. How will you explain three branches of the office each denying responsibility and pointing us to the next instead of just explaining to us the laid down procedures by the NCDC

Well, all other symptoms are now gone beside the coughing which is mild.

Very good. Testing wouldn't have cured you. Self isolating yourself is the right thing to do. If you start having severe symptoms like dyspnea, seek emergency care.

Don't you know that you have exposed your foolishness in the public domain without any deep intellectual meditation. From specialist hospital to NCDC offices, no organization accepts responsibility for testing, you are talking about testing based on symptoms. Do you know how many Nigerians have the symptoms you mentioned above that are walking about the streets? Do you know if any of them have such symptoms? In Lagos center, despite the money made available to NCDC and the large population of people in a crowded state such as Lagos, how many have they attended to? If Lagos State has relied on NCDC, situation of things would have gone out of hand. The same thing happened during Fashola regime when there was Ebola virus, NCDC was virtually on holiday. Even, if person on emergency on covid - 19 had been taken to those places, that is exactly how responsibility would have been shifted from one organization to the other, but if it is to share WHO, USAID, EU, CIDA, JICA and other donor organization funds, then everybody will claim to be involved. You people better wake up.
bro, update urself NCDC doesn't have enough test kits, same way AMERICA,UK, GERMANY and other G8 countries lack test kits...even if u give NCDC 1 trillion dollars ,they won't even get up to 100 kits cos kits aren't available..the makers of kits are selling them to their compatriots b4 other countries.the test kits in USA isn't even enough to cater for Brooklyn community in New York, let alone NYC

well, it’s a Nigeria thing. Some people are just too careless endangering their life all in the name to proof what? In western world people are advice to stay far away from hospitals talk less labs where covid-19 baba is being tested. What if you go there healthy and you meet people who has it and you contaminate yourself? (1) because you don’t even have the gadget to put on to escape the small air way covid-19 holders don spread for that zonal air or you think say your #100 mask go save you from breathing it in? Must you go for a test? In Europe at this period you don’t even visit your p doctor anymore or hospital if you don’t have a life threatening incident that hinders your breath and you can only call the green number for the corona emergency if you have a notable symptoms if not you will be advice to stay indoor or get fined and risk going to jail... over sabi non go kill some people for this naija sha

Did you read the post at all? How many confirmed cases in Nigeria exhibited COVID-19 symptoms before they got tested? Any responsible citizen that had contact with a positive person must present himself/herself for a test and according to the OP, such a person would be treated the same way and the virus would continue to spread.
Our Government is irresponsible because of irresponsible people like you that defend them.

It has been very difficult for average Nigerians in Nigeria to get tested. In most cases, they are screened out as low priority.

For this reason, we came together to setup a First-Contact service for average Nigerians.

Everything you need to know about our strategy to give full attention to everyone is on our Nairaland thread.

We have repeatedly reached out to persons who indicated that they were experiencing certain Covid-19 associated symptoms, offered medical advise, and channeled the data to the responsible government agencies for immediate intervention.

It is really a sad situation. I am one of those advocating for the number of tests conducted to be made public.
I guess you know why. Not because of the possibly limited test kits, but the numbers can give an overview of the situation on ground. For instance, testing 10,000 people and reporting 111 cases says a lot, in comparison with testing 120 people with 111 cases.
Both scenarios show 111 cases, but the latter shows no adequate screening etc.

If you are popular on twitter or other social networks, please let us demand the number of tests done.
26th March 2020, Mauritius had done more than twice as much tests as Nigeria.
Anybody supporting the modus operandi of Nigeria's testing is an angel of doom and an agent of darkness
