Good day sir, from this result I can categorically tell you it's more than that. Why don't you run a freeze frame?

But O² sensor going bad and VSS can be replaced.

Okay. I will do that

Due to the fact that the car is 19 years old and prolly high mileage it is better you use 10W40.
Only if they have not been using mobile oil for it.
Re: Mechanic Roundtable by danny34(m): 7:35pm On Aug 01, 2021
Onwer was using Visco 2000.

But I will go with your advice.

High Fuel Consumption: What are the likely causes

High fuel consumption is a particular issue any car user will understand when the car starts acting up.

So many times, I have had customers complain of serious fuel consumption and most kazeems (road side mechanics) attribute that to catalyst or indomie (a term used by those mechanics).

So what are the most like causes of high fuel consumption? It is worth noting that in Nigeria, we majorly have access to bad fuel according to the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto. The quality of some fuel in Nigeria is way below international standard.

Likely causes of high fuel consumption could be from the following car parts and driving habits:

- Oxygen sensors
- Air filters
- Spark plugs
- Fuel injectors
- Air Conditioning
- Idling
- Using the Wrong Gear
- Aggressive Driving
- Faulty engine
- Using Poor engine oil
- Poor quality fuels
- Worn out tyres
- Poor maintenance and short distance
- Worn-out clutch
- Warming the car in the morning.

The best corrective measure is to fix the likely cause listed above after running a comprehensive diagnosis on the vehicle.

Most car users refrain from the doing simple corrective maintenance due to negligence and even procrastination. When it comes to car maintenance, ignorance is simply no excuse.

To curb unnecessary visits to the fuel station, pay attention to the most tiny detail such as the gas cap of your cars. You might sit back in the car while it is being fueled but always make sure the fuel cap is tightly locked before you start the engine.

I have started an Instagram Live session where people call in to ask questions and I have been able to proffer the best possible solutions.

Follow me on Instagram @b.automobile_nigeria and tune in for the live session every Saturday when at 4pm.

Pls can you recommend a brand of the 10W40 I can use?

Or is any product ok as long as is 10W40?

Am concerned because of the rate of fake Mobil 1, as I learnt in this thread.

Thank you

I try not to impose oil plugs on customer, if he/she had asked for a plug now it is a different case so in this case he asked for product and I gave. No product no get fake but the Liqui-moly is kind of hard to adulterate. With that alone he should get it from a right source and Ladipo source
