You most likely typed this post out of ignorance.

Ventilators are medical devices/machines (depending on the sophistication) that help a patient to continue to breath even when the patient's natural respiratory system is failing.

There are many conditions( Pneumonia, Lung fibrosis, Bronchogenic cancinoma, Trauma due to road accident or physical assault/gun shot etc) that may require the use of ventilators to argument the breathing of patients.

Every Tertiary Hospital in Nigeria should have at least 2-3 ventilators and before this COVID-19 pandemic, the prices were around 1-4 million Naira depending on the type.
There are even simple manual ventilators that are operated by hands.

eodavids:

Its not his specialty. Neither do he need to go into ventilator production on such commercial basis, without Government commitment to that effect.

Let's learn to see things from others' angle.
If you are a business person who knows demand for ventilators is temporal and just for the remaining period of corona virus, will you use such huge resources to mass-produce the equipment and, hopefully, as the virus gets eradicated soon, the company will warehouse it or export it to the moon?

If Innoson had foolishly rushed into the production, these people speaking ill of him would have still accused him of trying to profit off the pandemic.

Which way my country people

The chasis (body frame) of Innoson vehicles are imported from China.

What the Automobile companies in Nigeria should pressurised the FG to do is to make local Steel industries viable so that the metal components (which account for about 70% of the weight of these vehicles) can be produced in Nigeria.

With this, the market price of a small brand new made-in-Nigeria salon car will be around #1.5-2 Million Naira which many citizens can afford without depending on Government patronage.

CSTR2:

There is nothing on the internet that justifies his position.

Innoson manufactures the plastics, metal finishing, foam, and other things.

He imports the engines from the Japanese Mitsubishi like many car producers, and critical electrical components.

So how is it 95% imports?

Is Engines and wiring 95% of a car?

He is a product of bad belle.

No sir,

You don't need any approval from Government to manufacture Ventilators or medical equipments.

You only need to meet up with the standards set by the appropriate authorities which can be World Health Organization, Some Professional Bodies (e.g New York Heart Association), regulatory agencies such as SON etc.

Upright750:

Meaning you don’t know it’s a Linder medical equipment which need approval from government . Even Dangote got license from government

Stop exposing your ignorance.

1) It's the responsibility of Government and NOT Dangote to reconstruct the road that leads to the port where most of the imported goods we use in Nigeria pass through.

2) Government sometimes give tax relief to manufacturers of essential items (as opposed to luxury items like wines) and even small business owners within the first five years of their operations.

Government can also reach agggrements with companies to perform certain duties of Government in return for some incentives or special arrangements e.g Government had given construction companies barrels of crude oil as a form of payment for construction of roads/bridges.

3) Dangote didn't not ask for any item to be banned. He doesn't have the power.

If you see any where that Dangote asked for the banning of any item, please post it here with evidence and not beer parlour gossips.

AerialMapper:

But it is okay for Dangote to ask for tax relief and other incentives before repairing the roads to the port that they contributed in destroying.

It is okay for Dangote to ask for the banning of certain food items before he will produce them locally!

Please what is the meaning of 'Fulani daru daru'?

Are bad Government officials only found among the Fulani tribe?

kunletexs:
Wen a clothes designer in USA wanted to produce comon face masks, he wrote to the relevant authority, GOT PERMISSION, subjected his factory for inspection, probably got standard sample, was able to produces HIS OWN SAMPLE before getting authorisation to start massive production which I know they would still BARGE in to rest for standard. That how a country with Brain works.

But here in Nigeria, wen you have a country where a fulani daru daru putting his daru daru friends into key position, you have the table turned upside down and children eating on it.

There shouldn't be a country.

Tribalism and ignorance will not allow you to reason well.

Corona Virus doesn't know tribes or Regions. The SW have International borders , International Seaport and International Airport through which people coming from foreign countries get into Nigeria and is usually the first place to have the cases of pandemics in Nigieria.

However subsequent spread within Nigeria can affect anybody.

The next victim of COVID-19 in the S/West may be Obinna, Orobosa, Adamu, Yesufu, Edet, Nnamdi, Williams, Danladi, Bassey, Amarachi or even Powerkey.

powerkey:

You're even the one very mad.

But you were rejoicing that federal government of North and Southwest gave Lagos 11billion naira to play with.

They just shared the money.

why is innoson even disturbing himself?

He should only protect himself and staff let coronavirus kill all the people in southwest, after all most cases are there and will remain there.

In the name of tribal solidarity, I see many people like you who regularly abuse other( Non-Igbo) Nigerians over Innoson.

My question; what do you think will be the reactions of these other (Non-Igbo) Nigerians towards Innoson and his products?
powerkey:

Innoson is not wretched like most Yorubas.

he is a billionaire by all standards.

He is not asking for 4billion to throw parties on the street of Lagos. This is to save lives.

Shameless goats who thinks that everyone is as poor as them.

Even your response isn't immune from tribalism.
You just singled out one ethnic region that happen to be the victim of the tribalism I was talking about!

I'm an igbo person

Why would I be tribalist against myself

What I'm saying is true

Nigerians across the country MUST eschew tribalism and ethnic chauvinism from our mainstream

For the second time in two comments you are guilty of tribalism against Igbo's.

Post the link where Dangote asked that certain products be banned.

We aren't interested in your insults (the whole world knows that is your area of expertise).

So why haven't you gone into the production of ventilators if its the most lucrative business to do?

So, all the patriotic and well-meaning Nigerians and even little kids donating their money, their time, their goods and services and even the one building 600-bed isolation center don't believe in the Nigerian project?

Btw, the folks donating billions all over the place stipulated that the funds must be spent in their respective states? You guys hardly make sense with your tribal rants.

no! gtb built their isolation center in umuahia...........and dangote built his own center in enugu.........who do think is a slowpoke?

Dangote didn't just start, he got govt backing which is very good. Do you know how many times CBN and other senior officials visited his site? This is how a country should run. You don't expect Innoson to run to a bank and take 4billion loan just on HOPE that govt will buy, who does that?
Ova stop talking about what you know nothing about.

When did CBN Officials start going to Dangote's site? When?

The man had secured land, started building and had gone far before CBN started showing up. Later the governors and other VIPs started visiting the place, as if they were going on pilgrimage.

Where were you when he started negotiating with the former governor of Ondo state for land, and those ones gave him impossible conditions?

Then he was invited by Lagos state and given huge hectares of land at Ibeju-Lekki.

Where were you when he was having community issues there, and his CSO was killed?

Oga, if you do not know the genesis of something, just keep quiet instead of jumping to wrong conclusions.

To people like you,the likes of Dangote are perfect men....but to you and your ilks, there's always something wrong to point out,to see in the likes of Innoson.
May God deliver you all from hatred and bad belle
