If you've embarked on interstate journey during this lockdown period please share your experience.

What is the border situation like? Are the security personnel at the borders compromising?

Let's hear from you.
I have seen people travel from Katina to Kano and from Kano to Lagos. I wonder if the borders are truly closed.

You don't need to go to Lagos for this, the risk is on the high side (75:25) for such venture at this time, you might loose that car. Simply, call someone trusted to do road-test drive on the vehicle, if confirmed road worthy, then you pay the seller by bank transfer.

Let the car remain safely parked in Lagos until after the lockdown. Thereafter, you jejely go and pick your car.
Thanks for the advice but it's kind of weird that I'll buy a car of 1.8m and won't see it or drive it and inspect it with my mechanic before paying. I have some in laws at Mowe in Ogun state but that's a bit too far from where the seller is.
To make matters worse, he's a chicken, he doesn't want to go out or drive anywhere further than his street, I would have asked him to take the car to Mowe or if possible, bring it to Ondo state.
Thanks though. Maybe I'll just wait. Guess there is a reason for everything.

Nigerians are do insensitive and wicked. We all are hungry and need to get to work as soon as possible. If the total lock down in Lagos, Ogun and Abuja was maintained, there wouldn't be this new cases outside the index states that we are recording now; the government wouldn't have extended the lockdown as there would be traces on how to curb the spread. But no, we chose to behave like idiots, playing smart cards, risking putting your lovely new family into extinction.
What will it profit a man after playing the authorities and infect his family with Covid-19?? Think about it.

Let's support our government in this fight so everything can return to normal...

please how did u get back to ibadan
wot time did u move
n where did u bud a bus.

shocked

I traveled from Ibadan to Lagos on Friday and came back to Ibadan on Saturday morning.

The travel lockdown is a scam. Many checkpoints on the road but the commercial drivers knows their way out. They pay N200 per checkpoints and N500 to the federal highway police checkpoint at Guru maharaji junction.

We were dropped off at Kara, and i entered a bike to Berger, from Berger, another bike to Ojota before taking a bike of N1000 to Yaba, which was my final destination.

The lockdown is more of a business venture between the Okada riders, transporters and security agents

I want to drive from Lagos to Port Harcourt. I have suspected that it will be a business venture for the security agents. So, Ishould I budget N20k for "settlement" to get there. Any comment by someone who has experienced this?

If you venture into travelling this time around, you'll be vulnerable to the followings... Kidnappers, armed robbers, ripoff by military and police men. More so, you will not be comfortable as a result of loneliness on the highway. I traveled with my sienna car from Lagos to Kano, to and fro. For contact on charter to any destination in Nigeria, kindly call, 08026166032

I think its fair to say that the spread of the covid-19 virus won't be curbed anytime soon and we should definitely be expecting more deaths .
Cos you guys will successfully distribute the virus to all 36 states of the country .

At this point, all I can think of is how I can leave this City called Lagos cry
I wish it was the period I made the move from Lagos to Calabar. We might have gone together. I drove privately and stumbled upon over 40 checkpoints from ijebu ode to agbor. It wasn't an easy journey as I had to stop over for a day at onitsha.

Food and farm products are exempted from the lockdown. So also Petrol tankers and medical supplies.

I know of tankers, but most markets are closed, son who is buying up the ones made entering, thought the said total lockdown.

very illogical solution, that fact is some people are moving freely.

Food products are exempted. Also exempted are petroleum products and medical products.

who is decieving who, some persons are obviously exempted from lock down.

the only persons clamoring for lockdown are benefiting from it.
