I understand you, I have a Matrix too so I'm not one-dimensional, you made some comments yesterday or so, to which I completely concur.
I just don't believe people should knock heads, express hate, quarrel or spite one another over car choices, just ranting from a general perspective...

Trust me, non of the bolded is the case here. I understand my moniker often riles up people i respond to no matter how i respond, but its my moniker and i can't change it. Your advice is best suited to nitwits like wereypey but don't bother he's a lost cause.

pretty car you have here. I have inpa scanner. Need to get ista D.
i have INPA as well but ISTA D is just better.i believe thats what BMW dealerships use as well but i could be wrong
I ll check if i still have the installation file for ISTA. if i do i can burn it on a DVD and send it to you if you really want it or you could just download it.it a big file tho. think it was 13gb or so then 20Gb after you unzip.
but you can do absolutely everything related with troubleshooting and repairs with ISTA D. It even provides a step by step guide with pictures of how to remove, test and replace parts. if you are into coding modules and stuff like that you ll need ISTA P or you could just use NCS expert from your INPA installation.
You ll be surprised how easy it is to work on and fix BMWs if you have the right tools.

i am sure i still have the file but i cant find it atm but if you go to this link you ll be able to donwload both INPA and ISTA D there.
INPA is Standard tools and ISTA D is rheingold. both downloads will include installation instructions
If you are only intrested in INPA you can just download standard tools and install it as per the install text in the downloaded file.
but if you want ISTA D you ll have to download and install Standard tools first then rheingold.

Sometimes we buy trouble for ourselves. Why not just buy the Toyota and have some piece of mind.

The BMW has a reliable and potent engine. But what about the electronics?

When the wahala starts, the BMW will be more parked than on the road.

One of my sister's drive only BMW and nothing else. She doesn't even use BMW specialist, but just a local BMW mechanic. Yes, she calls every once in awhile for advice when she suspects an issue coming up or when something really brakes down in the car. But none of them was complex issue. Just usual wear and tear. I have done few electrical diagnosis and repairs on the car for her. Even though I have zero knowledge on BMW systems, but I could figure them out because they are not as complicated as most people claim. She has never opened or replaced engine and transmission in her car, because they never gave her reason to.

I understand that when people abuse their vehicles, it's feels better to jump online to blame the vehicle, since no one knew the things he did on the car to be showing him pepper. From the little I know about that brand, there vehicles brake down or have issues just like every other vehicle does. No brand is immune to that.

I am not a fan of BMW. But if you really love to have one and can afford one, but scared of negative things people say about their cars online, your loss.

even without seeing the author or that silly signature, I can almost always identify a post by the so called Peugeot "expert"

they are always lengthy, 40 lines or more

they are always self righteous and self promotional, always whining about me, me, me

he takes the contrary position on many issues not because he actually believes the rubbish he types, but because that is the only way he knows to attract attention

he never fails to insert himself into a scenario that has zero to do with him

his opinions are usually outlandish and pseudo intellectual

the man-child has some arrested development, since then he hasn't been the same

How do you know the Toyota will give him peace of mind? if Toyotas are really as reliable and problem free as people say then everyone should be buying them without even any kind of inspection. My broda the truth is you can buy a Toyota that will be a wallet breaker especially if you buy a Nigerian used one same way you can buy a BMW that will be absolutely trouble free. the key thing is having a competent person who knows their onions do an inspection before you buy any used car at all (tokunbo or naija used). Then afterwards keep up with maintenance you and you ll enjoy your car for a very long time

IMO, the golden rule about using high quality equipment is the depth of pocket. One would need to spend good money to get one in faultless condition. You’d also need to acquaint yourself with a good BMW garage ASAP.
Ifvyou satisfy these conditions, they are incredibly well built machines. Things to be conscious and cautious about. Wiring issues, rust. If you buy an accident vehicle or most Nigerian used ones... you are gambling dangerously.
The Toyota Camry however is more reliable. (Not better built) simply because it’s easier to purchase and maintain. It also holds its value way better as a result of this. However the suspension of most Toyota’s are not so great. You’d find that you’d have to start spending money pretty soon on dampers (absorbers), bushings, linkages etc. if you can afford to buy expensive original parts for your Toyota then you’d get full value.
