Please I would like to ask, I did my biometrics yesterday .. what next please, do I get an acknowledgment from Ircc or vfs that they received my biometrics? Please explain to me so I get prepared for what’s to come. I tried tracking with the tracking number I was given yesterday, I got “no records found”

I seem to share sentiments with Anon123.
The fact that the e mail of big shots are available to public doesn't mean All manner of complaints are channelled to him. It's a Nigeria factor thing of escalation to superiors to prevail on juniors. These people have built their country on a decent basis. If you want to contact the big shots , let it be for something major. Imagine all visa people yet to get passports all sending him mail when the people at VFS have a laid out policy to follow. For all you know, he may not be monitoring the e mail personally. It is a privilege not right. That's why People can still be turned back at point of entry. No carry Naija gra gra outside the country

Thanks boss.. Thanks for understanding

Don't display this overzealousness if you get to any civilized country. Leave it with you at MMA. You ain't the first to get visa. And your language was harsh to Anon123. You want to show film, and are looking for support. Why don't you go to VFS alone and remind them you paid for it so they should expedite service for you. Your tone was uncalled for

You dy mind am. He for go alone since he paid for the service.

Thanks for your input, don’t get me wrong though I know this journey takes a lot of patience and I am also not trying to be too hung up on this visa application processing, but like I said from you own experience what do you think? Today makes it 77 days of no communication from IRCC and that’s quite worrisome. I just had to do my medicals (last week) on my own volition.
I fully understand that people have gone five months or so, but if I had something like AIP or so atleast I would be at rest, but with this, I am in the dark... and now I am at crossroads do I defer (deferment deadline for my school is dec 9th) or I just continue the journey and be optimistic.

You just have to wait... Your application is still at its baby stage...

my passport was received at the Lagos VFS office on Oct 30th, got the last message on Monday Nov 16 that is was still being processed and finally received an email from IRCC yesterday telling me I have a message waiting for me.

To the glory of God, when I checked, it was my LOI.

Hello Obanidavid

Have you received your passport back now? Can you recall when you received the final approval last week? Around what time too, perhaps?

I don't think I should be mentioned here since you started with the idea of abusing another person. Anon123 and I didn't abuse ourselves. He made a point and I felt his point is alright but he shouldn't have added fear mongering to it and I reacted appropriately. Consequently, he noted my point and that was the end.

Similarly, I agree with your point concerning patience. It is actually the only option now and even multiple emails may not make a lot of difference apart from creating awareness of an applicant's unique circumstance. However, I am vehemently against creating fear where there is none. I repeat myself here for the sake of clarity: no application will be rejected because of "too many emails". I have seen people who sent two mails per day for weeks and that didn't affect their applications. They were ultimately ignored and didn't get replies.

Once you get OPR or PPR, these are the things that can lead to rejection:
1. Detected misrepresentation
2. Fake passport
3. Lack of documentation at POE
4. Failure to answer any relevant question(s) at POE

The white man is not a god but he works according to strict rules. If you are on your right and you have not done anything untoward, you have nothing to fear.

Every applicant should be patient. Canada is not for the impatient at all. However, do not fear to speak up if you have a unique case that demands attention. Nobody will deny you a visa even if you send a mail to every one in Canada every day. Just make sure you are sending such a mail because it is necessary and not because of anything else. Above all else, be polite in every mail you send.

Hello gurus in the house.
I am happy that people are getting their PPR and looking for the best way to go about their submission of passport but please any advice for we early September applicant that are yet to hear from IRCC?
I have done my medicals (upfront) last week, still waiting for the update on my portal... from your experience what can you say to us early September people still waiting, I believe if they wanted to decline pur application they would have done it way earlier.
Please any advise you can give us maybe about how the trend of the way IRCC are attending to applications, anything at all to keep our hopes up....
Thanks

Hi Adeenzo, has the hospital sent you sms to confirm thay have sent your result to the embassy? they would need to first send your medical result to the embassy. If the answer is yes, give it another 1 week or two and send another webform to the embassy (put in details the day you recieved confirmation your result was sent to the embassy, the day you went for your upfront medicals) and attach the e-medical slip given to you. They will update your medicals in due time.

Thank you very much for this.

I will say you shouldn't box yourself with an oil and gas specific course/ degree e.g petroleum engineering particularly for a graduate course. You can do a program with your research interest in renewable energy as that's the focus of the world today. Even if you get a job in the oil and gas sector, a major in renewable energy will be a plus for you. Many oil and gas companies are also considering clean energy generation. Above all, your skillset matters in the industry.

Following what Kimkalash said, I think Nigerians fear too much. We live in a society where people can mark you down if you talk too much or you complain or you are too loud. We believe in witches and wizards ruining our destiny. Many of us can't even tell our own siblings that we are applying for visas because we feel it will attract bad luck. It's a Nigerian psyche.

I'm giving an antithesis to what MadeMan01 has proposed. Nigerian gra gra is basically to suffer in silence and then make noise when nothing can be done or make noise when we can simply talk. I have never left my fate to chance for once and I do whatever I can to fast track things for myself. If that means sending a mail to Justin Trudeau himself, I would. I have never seen anybody being denied visa because they sent multiple emails. Visa decisions are not based on extraneous factors. They are based on what you submitted and what the VO thought at that time. Once your application is approved, only admissibility factors can affect you and sending multiple emails to whoever is definitely not a ground for inadmissibility.

On a general note, almost of us here want to go to Canada. Canadians do not suffer in silence. A Canadian will not allow the Nigerian embassy treat them like trash because they want visas. A Canadian would not allow himself to be psychologically tortured during online classes because she doesn't have a visa yet. These are things many of us are tolerating. Ranting a little would make them understanding our pain. When I sent my emails, I didn't insult anybody. If you are the recipient sef, you will start feeling sorry for me. So far, all my emails have yielded fruit and like I said before, even if it means mailing Justin Trudeau or the Governor General of Canada (or even the Queen of Canada herself) just to get results, I would. Who nor like am, make e nor send e own. It's not by force.

In my online class, an Indian mate couldn't get a required book and he didn't say anything until it was almost too late. I told him to mail the professor to protest and he did. Guess what? The professor secured a scanned copy of the book for him and also gave him an extension to do his book report. A Nigerian may have left that to chance and failed because he feels it's even a privilege for him to study in Canada and he shouldn't disturb the professor with emails. Nigerians, soro soke o!

Beautifully written!!

Dont panic, no harm at all, lets wait for the confirmation to be sent to you first then we know the next step but i believe it wont be a problem just a little patience.

I dont think it necessary cos even with the result, you must isolate for 14 solid days . so make sure you have accommodation arrangements sorted before flying out. Good luck
