A lot of people misunderstood this post. The lack of enough medical PPE means that it is non available not because of money but because Germany does not have enough in stock and there is scarcity in the world over. Last month there was war of words between the German government and USA when Germany bought a jet load of PPE from China but somehow the whole consignment was diverted and hijacked and Germany suspected USA for this.
Next they went to a company website based in Spain to buy medical PPE worth 15 millions of euros . Unfortunately the website was fake and they are trying to get their money back. There has been press conferences on this and the police traced that money to a Nigerian. The case is still on. Bottomline, the money is there but its been so hard for government to do mass purchase.
