Keep in mind that the covid19 virus is a novel virus. We don't know many things about the virus, why some people who catch it have serious illness, and some don't, why some die and some don't. And the incubation period too is problematic. (Atiku's son and El Rufai both tested positive for over one month without falling sick at all..which puts paid to the 14 days thing).

We can argue about whether borders should have been closed in January or later....or earlier. For all we know, it may have been in the country as early as December. Hindsight is 20/20. At least we were testing for temperatures, and asking people to fill forms about where they traveleld by January ending...something many developed countries like the US were not doing at the same time.

And look at the argument over lockdown. Lockdown the country, and people will shout about the economy and how hunger is dealing with them. Loosen things up, people die, and the economy suffers.

Yes, Ebola. But the thing about Ebola is that it is an 'old' disease. We know how it spreads, and how it was to be handled. That's how we were able to nip it in the bud quickly. But this COVID that we are not fully sure how it spreads, or its incubation period...that's the issue.
