Did you just call the CFA a "stupid qualification"?
Boy; how old are you

The CFA is a stupid certification.

Obsessed over by wannabe investment bankers and underachieving people looking for a boost..

It doesnt help you enhance your knowledge significantly in any specific area..The syllabus is spread too thin for any real value to be delivered.

Compare someone who consistently smashes their budget to someone who passes their CFA.

Reminds of someone I knew at a firm I works, all analyst at her lever were promoted except for her despite the fact that she passed her level 3, you know why?

When people were busying grinding up until midnight at the office she was closing early to go and read for CFA..

Even he direct boss pass only his level 2 and saw that there was no real value in it and focused on smashing his budget..

People who are outside of the IB world, think they know what goes on in it. They can only guess..

So to you, it's a stupid and worthless certification because of the time spent preparing for it....

And the way you say the above with all boldness is even more shocking.

So because someone you know did not get promoted according to you because "she is spending excessive time preparing for CFA as opposed to "facing her work" " ; the certification is useless?

You dont know what you are saying
That's all I'll tell you

I could list all the SVPs and Assistant Directors who were solid performers during my time in IB, none of them had a CFA.

What ever you do with a CFA, you can do without.

Peace!

May give you a leg up in the competition, but there are no guarantees in life.

Msc is more of direction than speed.
It's meant too deepen your knowledge in the field you have decided to commit to hence the name Masters.
So why do a masters when you have no working experience in the field? What if you finally got a job in a field not related to your bsc.? Infact it limits that because when employes sees that you have a bsc and Msc soil science, they already know you would leave their job if a soil science lecturing job shows.
If I registered for my Msc immediately after nysc I Will have gone for Msc. Crop science.
A year after I will have done MBA agribusiness
Now I am doing msc food microbiology

Guarantee is a strong word. Helpful the better word.

No certificate guarantees job. You still need to convince the recruiter, you need to defend it. No one will just hand you job just because you have masters.

But it can be an edge. It can be helpful. It can get you shortlisted for many job positions, especially in international organisations where masters is almost always a requirement. It is left for you to do well at the selection process after the shortlist.

Please, I want to discuss with you about my career.
How possible?
