For First Time Fathers: How Do You Cope With A Pregnant Woman's Cravings? by Nobody: 11:52pm On May 11, 2020 |
So I've been married for 1 year and 7 months and just a little over 3 months ago, we found out my wife is pregnant and I was (and still) overjoyed to be expecting our first child. Then the problem starts. I've heard (and read) about pregnancy cravings and aversions but experiencing it is a whole new level. She can't stand entering the kitchen because of food odours (which I understand) so we mostly order food and have it delivered. Problem is we watch a lot of TV during this lockdown and she literally wants to eat every food we see on TV. When we drive out to pick our orders she wants to stop to buy almost every fruit and vegetable we see on the way despite my efforts to reason with her about safety and the ongoing pandemic. I cant stock up on anything because these cravings vary from day to day. We were just out to collect roasted fish for her and on getting home now, wants salad. At 10:30pm. Where I wan start? . I know it's part of the journey and I'm savouring every step (mostly!) but men it ain't easy, any slight protests on my side and it's tears for her. I guess it's the hormones but jeez, father's out there, please help o. How did you manage with these cravings of your pregnant wife/partner? 5 Likes

Bros, you just dey start oo, I remember back in 2015/2016 when my girl then was pregnant, I suffered ehn, from one craving to another, one time she said she wanted to eat unripe mango, and it wasn't even mango season yet. I remember one early morning as early as 6am, she woke me up and told me she was hungry, I listed everything I could make in the house, and she said she wasn't interested in any of that, that I should go out and look for food outside for her, by 6am in Cotonou? Who sells food by 6am? Anyways, the saddest part about it all was that she lost the baby in the third month. I still cry till date. 16 Likes 1 Share |

Well the fact that you accepted her behaviours is okay, left for me they are trying to torture men, because the know how we want babies. So best option is to start being extra romantic and extra chatty or gisting. She go just forget her aim and bro work well for bed |

They make demands. So always be ahead. If u get them something. After presenting it, immediately ask if they like or want it, if not, u could change it. Whatever they demand, make sure after providing it, make it look like its not enough Always show them its not enough and u wanna do more. By themselves dem go get brain to pity u, they will tell people my husband is really trying and i dnt wanna stress him Told my uncle something similar, it worked. He inturn told a friend and he said same. . Just try do am for 1 week. Its when u complain dey try to undermine ur efforts no matter ur sacrifice. 4 Likes |

MoneyMindset: Mtcheeeeeeeeeew!!! Am using all the pregnancy hormones in my body to respond to you and am not apologetic one bit! Who told you she wants to torture him? NONSENSE!! Which aim! I bet some of you mean cannot even cope with pregnancy for just one week yet you ll come out and type rubbish here. He should work well in bed. Who says she will always be interested in sex? When you dont have the answer to someone's post it's not by force to type. Do you even know how it feels! I pity your wife!!! 20 Likes |

cruxgemmata: God bless you sir. Just know it's not easy at all. One minute you are craving jollof, they bring it for you and the smell alone puts you off. You try something else. Not because you want to eat orisirisi. Your hungry and the baby inside is making life difficult. Because when you dont eat you become nauseous and very faint. Yet you cant eat because all foods available have become repugnant. So you try to force yourself to eat of which you may end up vomiting. No drugs to that effect. But it's worth it. The joy of having a mini you is all worth it. God bless all men that try to be understanding to pregnant women. 14 Likes |

Not trying to b a sadist but I av also asked a single mother abt dis issue too but d answer I got den was quite different.... I'm just trying to b rational here , 1) Assuming OP is broke n d wife knows his capabilities dat he can't provide more dan wat is in d house n dey can't keep buying anything dey c in oda to get necessary foodstuffs,, will she still keep craving for dem 2) Assuming ur wife ain't married n as a boyfriend OP denied d pregnancy n she doesn't av enough money to survive on her own cos she is managing, will she still crave for such D lady's answer was dat, women tend to behave in such manner because d means is dere, but if e red, nobody dey for dem, no funds, no nothing, dey will adapt.. So in conclusion, tell her to b more considerate....cos God knows I won't go out around 11pm to buy a particular food wen we ve variety of food in d hux,, if she can't consider my safety n bear with me till money, den I better use my head 3 Likes 1 Share |

Someone7:Sorry sir just bear with her. my first pregnancy,I pitied my hubby because of the wahala,to the point he goes to another room to rub cream and body spray is done outside the house on his way to work,we had all brands of toothpaste in the house anyone the spirit whispers I use. Pregnancy is HARD but easy for a FEW. food aversion, wild cravings especially for unavailable things. This stage of hers is crazy but hopefully it will pass. 3 Likes |

Women folks are acting dis pregnancy stuff up as its only men dat love kids.... Me, dere is an extent to which I can tolerate it...I av already told mine b4, if u wanna kill with pregnancy, den u prepare to stay with ur mum at d critical stage of d pregnancy or invite ur people over, cos I av to keep my sanity intact... 1 Like |
