I don't think its OK for you to keep it without getting a license or getting ideas from a serpentologist.

Because in the end, you could hurt your self if it bites you(I believe nonvenomous snakes also have sharp teeth too) or the snake gets hurt by catching a disease from your inexperience.

Nọn venomous snakes still have salmonella and possible tetanus from their bites..nothing too serious though.
