Sorry use your advice and help save your ailing companies that keep sacking workers. PMB has not sack a single Federal Worker despite the challenges. This foolish advice should have been reserved for yourself pre elections when you squandered your resources in the hope that you can sell NNPC and reinvigorate your purse.

You are blind. He is a private business owner with limited resources, unlike federal government that has the resources of the entire country in its possession

Former VP Atiku Abubakar, is very intelligent and academically qualified, to be the president of Nigeria much more than Buhari

Though former President Obasanjo, don't trust him anymore, and explained in details to Nigerians, how corrupt and rebellious he (Atiku) is, in MY WATCH, but I still voted for Atiku in 2019 because I believe he is better than corrupt, dangerously-fanatical and over-tribalistic Buhari

Let him sell it so that you can go behind to buy it after laying off staff working in your company and school?

So my friend once again leave the messenger and take the message! Bye

Hahahaha so you mean we should heed to advise of any hypocrite since it sounds perfect. I won't talk more than this but you don't know how to play politics.
Back to the message, we don't need to sell any presidential jet, it won't solve our country problem. Our problem is selfish leadership backed with the devilish 1999 Constitution. Then our size in terms of population, it is too much. With a large amount of our people ignorant in political matters. You can imagine in United States, where lots of household know one thing or the other about governance. Nobody could serve them trash as propaganda, because they are well informed about the system. Do you have what it takes to contest any political post. Advice for you, learn how to play games.

Sack workers like Mikano 600 (lagos), Gotel TV 100 (Adamawa) , American British University 400 (Adamawa)

Useless Hypocrite, why not use his own advise rather than sacking people in his own firm, he could had sold some of his choice properties in UAE like Sahara Mall Sharjah, and numerious tower apartment buildings in Palm Jumeirah Dubai

If this monafiq father of Ipobian didnt conive with Elrufai as BPE boss to sell , Delta Steel plant like scrap Nigeria would be making money outside oil from steel based products just has the koreans, If he never sold NITEL off Nigeria would had being making money like British do from Btitish Telecoms, and UAE does with Etisalat worldwide

.

He should sell his personal assets to pay his workers?

Running a government and running a business for profit are two different things entirely. Atiku didn't say that government should sell national assets to fund budget, he's talking about dead weight and unnecessary government expenditure. Scrapping plans for the national assembly complex renovation, selling off unnecessary luxury jets, reducing the financial packages of top government officials and public office holders is the proper path to tow in these harsh economic realities if the government really cares about the people. I know you probably hate the man, many of us do, but his advise is reasonable and wise.

Our politicians are only good at making great advice when they are not in positions of leadership.

However (despite the above), I agree with Atiku.

Our budget is too lopsided, and essentials like health are suffering, never accounting for 5% of spendings.

We need to work based on realities. We spend too much servicing a useless National Assembly, and 10 jets. Even the UK with a much stable umbrella non-oil industry, they don't even have a single jet.

This is the time to review a lot of things, starting from the top -- the presidency. Then the National Assembly. That organization alone saps a significant portion of our spending, and this they do with virtually nothing to show for it.

Wrong conclusion...
When buhari was playing opposition to OBJ and GEJ, he only focused on criticism. He never offered any economic solution to our problems as Atiku has been doing, because after all, what does an old dullard knows about economic realities of today's world? A man who doesn't have ideas outside the corridors of power will never help this country while in power. A man with ideas knows what to do, and his conscience will torment him if he refuse to do it.

a typical Jet in the Presidential Jet fleet is needed for the running of affiars of government since buhari sold one and gave another to Nigeria Airforce... Budget deficit stands at 3 to 4 trillion naira , non of the Jets in our fleet cost more than 50 billion even the most luxurious one Boeing business jet Airforce 001, again Ministry of Finance had already said the budget had being re adjusted by 25%, and NASS renovation budget had being put on hold, the borrowing plan is to finance capital projects accross Nigeria so as not to liter the space with abandoned projects... so the trash Atiku just said is complete hogwash targeted at the government and to boost his PR ratings, this same man sacking people could only donate 50million naira for covid 19, while his son in law alone was caught laundering 30 million euro just for election bribes, why not deploy such fund to help corona virus victims if he was serious about national building

@BREYZ, Goodluck Jonathan is just too weak to continue as the President. By now, they would not have anything to steal!!!

"Too weak" but we had $1 = N200, a bag of rice = N7,500, 1liter of Petrol = N87, our total debt at just N7.2 trillion (as against a staggering N33 trillion today).

Nigeria had the biggest economy and the highest FDI in Africa, was the 3rd-fastest-growing economy in the world, and belonged to the MINT-class economies.

He established and built 12 universities, revived our railway sector, introduced the TSA, BVN, we had free, fair, credible and bloodless elections, etc...I can go on and on!

Yet you were fooled into voting in an unprepared, divisive and utterly incompetent APC, a congregation of strange bed fellows with no single plan for the country other than the quest to remove Jonathan and return power to the north. They have eroded every single legacy left behind by the Jonathan government.

You had better woken up Ogbeni, and quit chanting "Jonathan was weak" upandan. This is 2020!

Bro everyone is laying workers off. Uber sacked 3,500 workers yesterday. This is the time we live in, there is an economic meltdown around the world.

If atiku’s company was in England he would have received furloughs by now. Besides, if you know any of atikus business you would know that he has just been doing all those workers he sacked a service by employing them for that long. Most of them were redundant staff that were going to be sacked irrespective of covid 19.

Since when he merged his businesses under one umbrella Priam group, you should have known that restructuring would take place.

I just don't know why good things elope Nigeria whenever we are at the verge of getting it right. You can imagine where Nigeria would have been today if GoodLuck Jonathan was still the President but he had to leave the forefront because too many people were against him and now we can see the Government some of us wanted. Nobody is saying sai Baba anymore, all the empty promises that made some of us go against a government that was doing it right have all gone down the drainage and now we are back here where anything goes and nobody dare questions or ask questions anymore, nobody speaks or protests anymore. I remember what so many of them did just to make sure Jonathan and his government appeared bad but today none of those people speak anymore. They have suddenly become deaf and dumb & too blind to see, now in their houses enduring and suffering the pains they brought upon their fellow citizens.

Will some Nigerians learn? No.
The day we start thinking ahead, that's the day Nigeria will move forward but for now, let us partake in the errors committed by a few in the past.

Jonathan and Buhari are the same... They are member of the wild beast operating from different states. Were you outside the country when Jonathan was the president? His cabinet was made up of the northerners, which was why the yoruba's got angry with him. If you are talking about looting...no government is exempted. We need a revolution that will put things a bit right.

don't mind Atiku. talking as if he's making sense.
who wants to buy all that our old fleet called presidential jet during this covid19. period

sometimes I wonder if he was really a VP at all.
because he should know what a budget means.

comparing our budget to Saudi Arabia is so stupid. even the 30% slash in their budget is twice our own

a budget is like planning for the revenue you hope to generate. most times the budget is just averagely 60% implemented. so even if the national assembly complex is included, it can never be a priority
there are bigger projects like the 2nd nigeria bridge
the railways and co and there's salary to pay.
covid19 to contend with

all the planes put together is so insignificant.
its not even up to abacha loot. can't even finish a single project.
now when this covid19 is all over, government will now make a request for a new presidential fleet.
see corruption

A lot of people are stuck on the primary income of selling our fleets. You forget the secondary expenses that come with selling the fleet. No paying for hangar parking, maintenance, repairs, fueling, etc. all this is a multi million dollar secondary market that we can do without.

The budget should be cut to be honest. MOF and CBN stated yesterday that they have 5 trillion of the 10 trillion budget proposed. The other 5 trillion are you going to dash us. Don’t forget every year budget we have been comfortable borrowing money to sponsor our budget, we can’t do that this year because we wouldn’t be able to pay. The 22billion Buhari wanted to borrow in February March why did you think the NA stopped it. I REPEAT WE CANT AFFORD TO BORROW TO SPONSOR OUR BUDGET ANYMORE.
