both Gambari and Adesina are both on same level take it or leave it, both are senior aides to the president and according to RMAFC they earn same pay , same package, non seniors the other, due to bureaucratic nature and lack of orderliness in Buhari's administration is why anybody would even think Chief of Staff holds special power outside organization of documents for the President and maintaining his schedules as authorized by him, and releasing internal memo signed by the president upon his order

each state has Chief of Staff, same with all ministers, Legislature and previous President like Jonathan and Obasanjo and never has one of their Chief of Staff assumed any power, they simply follow orders except Mr Kyari buhari's friend of 45 years
Okay you're right. undecided

Crownbefitsme:
Records have shown that Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, in 2008, condemned Ibrahim Gambari for his support of dictatorial governments.

Mr Gambari, who was recently appointed as the new Chief of Staff to President Buhari, has come under criticism for his role in bolstering the gag on press freedom. The diplomat served as the Minister for External Affairs between 1984 and 1985 under Mr Buhari who was a military head of state then.

Also, Mr Gambari worked for the late dictator, General Sani Abacha, whose regime saw to the victimisation of journalists and activists. One of the victims of the stifling of press freedom under Abacha was Ken Saro-Wiwa, a Nigerian journalist and environmental activist, who led a nonviolent campaign against environmental degradation of the land and waters of Ogoniland by the operations of the multinational petroleum industries.

Mr Saro-Wiwa was hanged in 1995 by the military dictatorship of General Sani Abacha. However, years after the killing, Mr Gambari defended the actions of late Abacha saying the killing was in the interest of the state.

Nevertheless, in a column published on July 12, 2008, Mr Adesina lampooned Mr Gambari. The article published on page 15 of Saturday Sun was titled “Gambari: the slap next time.”

In one of the paragraphs, Mr Adesina referred to the new Chief of Staff as a man who enslaved himself to please his paymasters.

“Gambari enslaved himself to please his paymasters. Now, 13 years later, the shackles are still tied round his neck. bootlicking grovellers fail to learn.”

Reacting to this, former Presidential spokesperson, Reno Omokri, shared a snippet of the column and criticised Mr Adesina who is now serving in the same administration with Mr Gambari.

Mr Omokri, who wrote on Saturday, said;

Source: https://politicsnigeria.com/flash-back-ibrahim-gambari-is-a-bootlicker-femi-adesina/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

If Femi Adesina has one iota of shame, if he has as little as a mustard seed of Christianity in him, by now he would have resigned this appointment and regain some credibility by this act citing personal principles.

a chief of staff is a special aide just like Adesina, they are on the same level and payroll, Gambari isn't more powerful than Adesina and that's why he outrightly refused to congratulate him, even garba shehu was very reluctant

People shouldn't think Gambari would be as influential as Abba kyari... Abba kyari was one of Buhari's money bag similar to Issa funtua so they enjoy special previledge higher than the office or position they occupy, in the case of Gambari he is just going to be a Loyal political appointee

and to the ones who would quote for an argument read roles of chief of staff here before quoting https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chief_of_Staff_to_the_President_(Nigeria)

.

Lol. Where did you get that from. Gambari is adeshina's boss. Chief of staff supervises all staff that work in that presidency. They take orders from him. Oh and definitely not on the same payroll.

I know many wont see chief of staff as an excutive secetary anymore with what Abba Kyari enjoyed.. but facts remains fact

Lol. Fact indeed. So someone you take orders from is not your boss. I guess the only orders you receive from your boss in your office are only in written format no verbal ones. You really think Buhari signs all the orders that come from the "presidency". All that is by the way. All staff in the presidency take orders from the CoS a la Buhari or not. One cannot but sympathize with the amiable Femi Adesina.
He is currently living between the rock and a hard place. Some proverbs or words of wisdom may be apt at this time and if he considers these words of wisdom then he should know the right thing to do next.
1) When you point a finger at someone, 4 fingers are pointing back at you.
2) A brave man dies but once; a coward dies once
3) Those who will in glass houses must never throw stones
4) A man of honor and principle is worth more than all the riches in the world.

The next thing for Femi, if he is a man of honor and principle, is to honourably take a bow. But because he is an African, and because he's working in Government and because of Poverty Mentality, he would rather prefer to die a fool's death than to tow the path of honor.

Alas, a Daniel has come to judgement and the slap next time is around the corner waiting for Femi.

The north controls the political power ,all southerners without exception including the northern minorities must be a bootlicker to eat from the crumbs of political largesse of the Hausa Fulani oligarchy .
Obasanjo was a figure head and surrogate of the caliphate Atiku Abubakar wield the political power Jonathan was also a puppet of the caliphate Dasuki and co were in charge.they dictate to him and ruin his government.
No fair play ,no equal partners in the Hausa-fulani political equation.it is always master servant relationship with the rest of Nigerians.
The way forward is restructuring let us confederate as equal partners in progress or break up as independent nations.Nobody is happy to be a second class citizen in his own country .period.

Okay sir. But you pasted the link yourself which suggests you endorse what it contains. I will assume you know more about the Nigerian presidency and its intricacies than I do. However note that three out of the five people you mentioned are at home jobless. One of these three is having a day with EFCC on some long forgotten matters that suddenly popped up. Of the last two of the initial five, the female has been screeching from an angle of pain from the inception of this govt while the male's matter can be considered inconclusive due to circumstances beyond abba's control.
I'm sure you'll also agree Femi will qualify as a small fry when compared to all those individuals in the larger scheme of power.
Let's hope then that Buhari resets the power he gives to the new CoS for the sake of Femi.

Wrong!! I wasn't talking about Saraki's case with EFCC. Oyo-Ita is not retired. She was sacked and has a case with EFCC over some estacodes when she was a perm sec in one of the ministries. Seems you missed that bit of news.

That aside, i'm sure you agree, that, all the aforementioned had issues with the CoS and lost out including the first lady. Even Adesina alluded to the CoS's powers in the article he wrote for him. I already referred you to the link you pasted and more importantly now, since you claim that is in the US, I refer you to Buhari telling his ministers to report to Abba Kyari, the CoS. I'm sure no minister reports to Femi Adesina and of course ministers are of higher rank than special advisers or assistants. Even the service chiefs took orders from him as wailed by the NSA in his letters.

You may say the powers are given to that office by Buhari and you will be correct but i'm sure you'll also agree that Gambari is also coming to work in that same environment which seems to heavily favour his office. From all indications, Buhari does not look ready to change that configuration. Gambari is highly educated like Kyari which suggests that Buhari looks to compliment his mental deficiencies with that of the occupier of that office whose other attributes must be loyalty without equivocation and, seeing how Gambari performed fantastically with an Abacha, he seems to be a very loyal dog.

P.S. Appointments of political aides into the presidency are not done through the SGF's office. It is done through the office of the presidency. SGF handles inter-governmental matters. Nothing concerns him with what goes on at the presidency.
