That's why it's a piggybank. You are not going to die if there's a thief or fire. It's just to save or put away, it also helps discipline the mind. The amount aren't usually millions.

My piggybank is made from tie and cufflinks box. If I shave by myself, I pay myself by putting the money there. If I do something I should have called electrician or carpenter for, I pay myself there.

I cannot tell you how many times that little box has saved me, esp to buy fuel for my car for unplanned journeys or impromptu spendings that would have taken me to ATM.

The money you save will save you one day, The irony of target savings is that, inflation eats it up before time,don,t save to acquire properties including land,save short term for investment,the proceeds from the investment can be used to buy properties,

I know. I do same. I don't always achieve it, but it makes me stay disciplined and save more than I could have. Sometimes, I may decide not to touch my salary, and I will manage my bonuses and other pockets of favour here and tbere.

Infact, I just set a December goal today and I prayed about it. The new goal can only be achieved if I don't touch my salaries between now and December. But it's a vision, and it will keep me disciplined till December.
