point of correction
they will sell it if they want to..
but they will reatrict it..
Egypt f 16 can't target Israel or US fighter jets so in a war with any of those countries those jets are useless..
that's why I prefer Russia no strings attached..
why so you think most countries.prefer Russia weapons..
even turkey dumped US Patriot for S400
that's the point na, dey won't sell it to nigeria and even thou they would, just like u said 'restrict' will be the case. it's just like selling an iPhone 11 with 520gb rom and 1gb ram while the original has abt 256gb ram and 8gb rom. Both will be called an iPhone 11 but the specs is far different than we think.. That's just the same way the US will do to african countries.... Russia is a rugged nation... theu are after ur money and notin else. so even thou you want to buy 500 units of russian fighter jet, dey will sell it to you... what they believe in is that before you attack them with those weapon, your country will be history.

I'm truly happy with and for Nigeria
But do you know Russia recently lost a helicopter and it's 4 crew members?
Why am I saying this,
We spend so much on a helicopter that can be brought down on its first outing but fail to see the end of a WAR that could have been dealt with with better ways since 2006, 2010 and all throughout GEJ'S tenure. Now GEJ wanted to negotiate with BH boys and they named Buhari as one person/emissary they'd respect and listen to. Fast forward to 2020 Buhari has been in charge for over 5 years without any visible difference between himself and GEJ, even while the later has had no military experience and had to rely on the technical and expert advice from the entire military and NAS. I kid you not this Tucano while cool will never solve our problem with BH. We know but we feign loyalty to Buhari as though he's the best thing after sliced bread and blueband.

Our security is in a deep pit (its not well with our security, pun intended between pit and well) that we need strong able hands to pull it out firmly but gently.
Curb the internal snitches within the military, prosecute sponsors, nip the lucrative side of the BH war that has turned several people to arms dealer, cooks, informants and village raiders, pay and cater for the soldiers and front line personnel, engage idle youths in that region and around the country so they don't become ready recruits, ensure Muslim clerics don't teach messages that incite these ideologies that everything outside Islam is haram and jihad is good and die once and win 7 virgins forever, among several other suggestions that are workable.

#WarIsUglyPeaceIsLovely
On boko haram...you mean there isn't visible difference between GEJ and PMB? Are you for real?... We forget too much in this country

Are these weapons prepared for our fellow humans? Why spend our hard end resources fighting and killing each other? Most of us needs food to survive, please let them use these moneys on palliatives rather than acquiring weapons of death

Really disappointing for the Giant of Africa. This ain't quality fighter jets.. This was made in the 90s.. We deserve better
It was introduced in the 90s not made...the ones Nigeria ordered are new and made recently...thats why they are taking time to be delivered... They are already undergoing their test flights there which indicates they are new...
Even F-22 were produced in the 90s and introduced in 2003 there about

It is foresight to acquire a plane like that. Advanced electronic and weaponry on an easy to maintain aircraft.

It is better than acquiring A10 aircraft that will have to be sent to USA just for routine turnaround maintenance.

It is the non corrupt elements that brought this current hardships Nigerians are passing through.

In the history of Nigeria no corrupt element has brought hardship like the one we are currently facing with the non currupt elements.

Is this Aircraft our problem? Are there power supply which is the engine drive of industrialization in Nigeria?
So what's new

Element insi
yes security is our problem.
For 16yrs your fellow corrupt politicianss did not do anything about the the power supply.
When we sold crude oil at it highest price, we did not safe even a kobo, the useless PDP shared the money among their friends. Some of you are used to Dasuki money but now that no more Dasuki you begins to feel the heat.
God bless Buhari.

The super Tucano is not a 4th generation fighter aircraft.

The fighter jets that belong to the above category as

F-15 (upgraded versions)
F-16 (upgraded versions)
Su-30 (most of its upgraded variants)
Su-35
Mig-35
Typhoon
Rafael
Gripen

These are clear cut examples of Jets that 4th generation fighters. A tucano will do the job against insurgents that do not have weapons such as the stinger missiles or air defence systems.
