A legal practitioner in Nigeria has revealed that in Nigerian law, forcefully sleeping with your wife against her will is not rape.

Barrister Kutuh took to his Twitter page to reveal that the Nigerian law does consider sleeping with your spouse in marriage without the other party’s consent as rape because a man can not rape his own wife under Nigerian law.

The reason why under Nig law (both the Penal and Criminal code) says a husband can not be charge of raping his wife is bcouse rape is an un consented sex with a woman. For a woman to agree for marriage means she has automatically given her consent to sex and hence her husband can not be criminally liable if he has sex with his wife but the law made it clear that if in the process of sexual intercourse a man injured his wife, he will be charge of assault.

So in short, it's only men that rapes women in marriage according to your observation, and it doesn't stand actually mean it's not possible right?

Because you've never seen one doesn't mean I doesn't happen, infact, it happens more frequently than men forcing their wives. Because most women see sex as a way of punishing their husband and also as a tool to destroy him.

Women actually have a way of getting public pity hence husband raping wives got a ground it shouldn't get in the first place.
