The beauty of gender is that we're different yet alike. For way too long we've dwelt on the "difference" ; and no one, just no one seems to see the likeness. No one seems to see that the very moral upbringing you deem fit for the girl-child should also with equal gusto be enacted on the male-child.
No one seems to see that when Proverbs 22 : 6 was written, the writer had both sexes in mind.

But no, we all have default Glaucoma ; and for reasons best known to us, we've all refused to see a doctor. Our Glaucoma came with his guy "Cataract" ; so we now take sides. We've all turned a blind eye to Moral upbringing for the male child, no, it is a default program in his system ; just like an app that comes with a newly bought phone, moral upbringing is already installed in Gbenga and Femi; Luke and Light; Charles and Felix right from their baby-hood.

So when the doctor spills "It's a boy", we're flushed with "societal" joy ; we dance and swirl in every direction the virus in us tells us to, why? It's less work, send him to school and nothing else, or fair enough ; sprinkle some religious activities in-between, to aid the pre-installed upbringing and boom another "Societal" PATRIARCH is formed.
One that the god of PATRIARCHY would be proud of ; grinning from ear to ear as he gently raises and lowers his native offor on his newest project, A DEMON.
