You've said it all. Some people that haven't crossed Kogi state will be in their AC fitted room in Lagos claiming knowledge of the war zone. I can imagine the number of vehicles that will be waiting at the boarders to cross. Boko boys can use that opportunity to strike.

commanding the soldiers that
violated the restriction order
said they acted based on the
fact that incoming travellers
that were trying to escape the
committee had gathered at a
location, and the soldiers were
worried that they could come
under attack by Boko Haram
insurgents. Hence they led
them into the state.

With this, I saw reasons with the soldiers, but they should been more diplomatic about it.
I remember how travellers were attacked last time when they were
stuck there and we recorded many casualties.

Police are there to help defend the checkpoints you're talking as if it's an open road.

The civilians wanted to dodge the checkpoints so they went to gather somewhere else, that is their own fault and not because of the committee.

They even beat up a journalist showing that they didn't want anyone to see what was going on.

When Boko Haram attacked a village for hours did the army save them?

I don't know why Nigerians are so quick to defend lawlessness.

Save them without a Command to go do so ??

Were they just "standing in the way of Soldiers" of where they carrying out the instruction of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces?
Anyway,, this sort of nonsense happens where the C-in-C is a vegetable and the COAS is corrupt otherwise, l can see the COAS of any other country turninig a blind eye to the disobedience of the instructions of his C-in-C by some moronic Soldiers.

The Governor, if he is worth his salt, should demand and ensure that all the soldeirs involved, given Oderly Room trial, summarily dismissed, prosecuted and jailed.
And to think that these criminals in Army Uniform used their foolishness to terminate the life of another federal law enforcement (Police) officer!
Honestly, Buhari has destroyed this country beyond repair, with the useless and corrupt people he often put incharge of serious business.

There wount be enough Soldiers to fight if they all keep getting dismissed or put in a guard room

Why not join the Army instead and do things right after all change starts from us isn't it

Many of those commenting did not even read the post. I have never supported or even agree with our soldiers in most cases, but in this case, those covid 19 guys are stopping soldiers that are on military operation and also putting the lives of travellers in danger.. What do you expect the soldiers to do? Nigeria is just sick, including those abusing the soldiers

You are as silly as anyone can be. Those stranded civilians knew that there was inter states travel bans and they are the major reason why covid-19 keeps spreading.
As for the soldiers you described as professional and patriotic, did you know that they killed a driver? They injured women and kids including a pregnant woman?
Now let me educate on this. Have you ever read it in the news that Boko Haram killed stranded civilians in Borno state since the inter states ban started? Were the committee not stopping the travellers on daily basis before? Have you asked yourself how was the committee handling it before? At least, we didn't hear tragic news like this before. Soldiers intervened once and casualties were recorded including fatality.
Those soldiers should have allowed the committee to handle it the way they were used to handling it before. It's not everything you get involved in just because you carry guns. Those soldiers acted like bullies which they are and I hope that some of them are scapegoated

their officers are filled with disgust and irritable at the sight of democratic leaders.

so they take and give orders for theur men to disregard all Civic authority, they at every first instance assume they are superior. don't be fooled by the eventual arrest and punish of their men

they gave the orders and the men knew their commanders don't give a Bleep about civil authorities

best way, let them av their way, and go wait for them at d top ..... deal with their top commanders .
