Safety concerns increase if Engr Basil's experience is to be true!

no. You work hard you enrich a few but true Federalism you work hard and every body share the profit and go home. Nothing like sack.
That is most definitely untrue. Capitalists will use you no matter where you come from. Federalism, communism, socialism and capitalism are not Nigeria's solutions, a revolution is the real solution.

It's very hard to select those to be disengage bro. main looking at the faces of your colleagues u will have feelings for them. I have been in that situation before those day I worked with PACK n SHOP V/I. As the supo my boss asked me to select 10 persons out of 13 persons to work wit me. if u c the way they all looked at me with fear, I almost cried in their present. I could not select. few minutes later I came back and ask dem to discuss and choose among themselves dat I can't pick out anyone..they did, before they left...it was realllll....emotional.

My dear, what u said is true, but that is where the test of a leader or manager comes to lime.

In as much as you feel their pains, the job has to continue. If you lack the ability to take drastic action in the course of your duty, irrespective of who is involved, it means you are not really matured to be a manager.

If that job is yours and the economy is not favorable to pay all the ppl u employed during fair weather, will u out of pity, let them keep working while u borrow money from somewhere else to pay their salaries.

What's plastic rice got to do with 3000+ people thrown into the job market in this Covid era......

The secret Plan is to bring their Hausa counterpart to work at the Abeokuta cement site, Yoruba are not smart people, They gave Land to Dangote in Abeokuta and he became rich by producing and selling cements which no other business man in the south can compete with him, He employed your sons to do Labourer Jobs and get his kinsmen as Manager,
He then sacks 3000 as the first badge so as to allow them bring workers from the North to the Abeokuta cement factory, Go there, they have been bring many Hausa to that Plants in droves
The same Dangote is being allowed to build refinery in Lagos to explore the oil that belong to a region in Nigerian and Yoruba are smilling sheepishly with these Hausa who are enslaving them economically
Go to Apapa Port Yoruba are now beggars at the gate and Hausa are the Big Ogas in Yoruba Land
Go to the Airport, the Hausa are being employed in Immigration and customs , yoruba are outside waiting for passenger or selling Amala at the bureau de change
The Yoruba race are cursed and are eternal slaves to Hausa

Chase Dongote out of the Yoruba states, Take over every infrastuture and let every region control their resources
The country is dead as it stands

IBOs, you are something else. Atiku is now your saviour and god. You said Yorubas attacked Atiku but defended Dangote. I am very sorry for Abdulsamad Rabiu (BUA), the Ibos will finally wreck him.

the thread is about an unnamed source with no hard cement industry evidence attempting to denigrate Mr. Dangote. I expanded the theme to post actual facts of him employing thousands, and his works to feed millions outweigh the sacking of 3000 ppl if in fact true. we could come back on NL tens years from now and S. Reporters would not have reached employing 3000 Nigerians.

Now let me ask you a question, would you want and take pride in eating a homegrown and produced product or desire an imported food from China on your table?

I understand there's a need to balance his previous actions against this current trend/ news. I respect that. I respect his business acumen and prowess.

However it doesn't take away the gloomy future 3000 workers and their families face now.

That's the issue at hand not his past glories.

Laying off 3000 people with 2 days notice is not done. There may be weak application of labour laws if any exist... In Nigeria.. But that's not due process!!

I wonder how this will sit with his board members... Its NOT all about money !!

There should have been transparent continuous efforts on the part of management to minimize this significant loss of human potential.

This means free access to distribution of goods, capital and services.
Basic Wealth should be distributed to all equally (proletariat) and not only to the greedy bourgeoisie that want to acquire everything they don't even need in their lifetime.
Mind the you the population of proletariats who need help in a society are always more than the greedy bourgeoisie.

Nigeria today fits the need for this system because the gap between the rich and poor is unimaginable which equals to the long extinct feudalism.

Painful as it may sound, it is not a rare act to lay off when paying becomes difficult. Dangote employed these staff ab-initio and now the real effect of covid 19 is here I do not expect him and his company to be different in feeling the pinch.
Borders are closed, construction is at it's low and restrictions are having a spiral effect on everything companies do.
Let those who were sacked move on so ce there is life

But does it mean that those who don't work receive this wealth that is being distributed. Because I believe that the working class should hold the source of capital.

Nigeria fit this type of system because everyone want to work we are very hardworking, imagine the amount of production output in a year Nigerians will put out if socialism is in place even the Chinese will bow.

And in socialist society there is always work for everyone.

Regardless if one is working, in a socialist society there is what is called universal basic income(basic living stipend provided by the govt controlled economy institutions which may come in almost tax free public amenities like electricity, water, public transportation, etc)

Most Nigerians wont even depend on UBI because they all want to work and be productive.

Now compare all this advantages to a capitalist society you see that capitalism is nothing more but an advanced modern day slavery and feudalism.

This is the greatest illusion most socialist believe.

If they is nothing like sack, labor would be complacent, workers would not produce to their max and at the end the would be no profit to share, infact at the end they would be debt, big debt.

Kaduna Refinary is gulping over 60 billion naira yearly in expense with zero income... No private company or individual can be that stupid

Wonder why Nigerian own Water Corp, ajaokuta, Nitel collapsed? E

The market should be open, if you chose to be employee it comes with its own risk.
If you choose to be an employer, it comes with its own risk and demands.

In Nigeria every body want to work Or you meant every one want Money?

Socialist run production/Company can never work in Africa nor Nigeria.

Because of ingrained corruption, nepotism and tribalism.

Show me one govt run Enterprise that is profitable since the 80s till now... Which govt would give me you UBI.... They would squander and loot everything. If a northerner is charge the UBI would not reach south east.

Capitalism is open, your destiny is in your hands. In socialism your destiny is the hand of the govt.

"your destiny is in your hands" tell me if those 3000 willing to work workers sacked had their destinies in their hands or in the hands of a single person on top?
No matter how you try to defend capitalism it will still be a form of modern day slavery and feudalism
It's only when you taste freedom you can see this fact.

Yes socialism may not work very well in a multicultural society but it sure does very well in a mono cultural society
Which all goes down to restructuring of the country.

Those 3,000 sack employees had their destiny in hand, if you see the way applicant are lobbying to work for this muti-nationals. It was their choice, nobody forced them. Did anybody stop them saving, resigning and start their own small business and keep all the profit.

How about redeveloping themselves to become indisposable.

Sacking and employment is necessary to keep productive.
My advice in capitalism is your destiny is in your hands.... As employee, have a exit plan.. save up, learn and sack your boss with dignity and set up yours. If you can't, nobody or system is holding you back but your fear.

Everybody have equal 24 hours... Your destiny is your hand... Both as an employee or employer.

Lastly, even In a mono cultural society in Nigeriathey is still discrimination, fraud and corruption.
How can you trust an African govt to produce and distribute to you Common palliative they can't never share, even if they was plenty and excess they would stuff it abroad.

Civil service is just sharing and not producing. Black man Govt can't produce be it multi or mono.

If you can't work and get sack after 5 years... Start your own and be employed forever.

But not everyone can "have their destiny in their hands" the few capitalists would always own the source of capital and will always exploit the masses. How will someone who doesn't even work sit down at home and receive billions while the masses strive under poor conditions but only earn a meagre income compared to what the so called men at the top earn.

That's apparent. Dangote started poor, a store keeper.

Most capitalist were very very poor at a particular time.

Coca cola sold 24 bottles in its first year...

That you are working for Dangote, you are driving flashy car (which is okay), living in posh house and you are talking about capital to start up.

Save up and resign.... If you can't resign, position yourself to become indisposable

And wait, let me ask what is the difference between entrepreneurship and capitalism.

Because we pushing and celebrating entrepreneurship and we kept criticizing capitalism.

Obviously entrepreneurship is the struggling and suffering days... Days when you live in your office because you have to invest your rent... Days when you look unkept and people think you are foolish... Capitalist, like you said are the few that survived.

They took the risk, create solution and jobs.. many failed and falled
