I believe Mrs. Florence Ajumobi was speaking as a woman who has be overwhelmed with emotions as a result of the death of her husband, but the truth must be said, it's totally unpatriotic, inhumane and lack of maturity for the Oyo State Government not to have sent a high powered delegation to commiserate with the Ajumobi Family. Life is simple and Governor Makinde should be smarter than that and should have done the needful.

Delegate that he wanted.

He wants Gsm family,
Deputy governor family.
Police escort with keys to GRA property under litigation.
State chief of staff and family with Keys to Oyo state treasury.
Maybe come along with OBJ and PYO.

I'm just thinking too

All this is just to excuse someone who didn't act according to common sense and norms. Now, according to the discussion, there's no proof the man even called. We are the ones assuming the phone rang but she didn't pick. The man didn't say that. The phone could have been switched off or maybe he was even lying. These doubts could have been avoided by a simple act, that's my point. Yes, she might have had her own issues but if, despite all her shortcomings, the state government really wanted to establish contact with her, that her phone didn't ring or that she didn't pick shouldn't be an excuse. And that's what she was trying to tell them. Her husband wasn't just anybody. He was the immediate past leader of the state who led for 8 years. If they don't want to reach out cause of grudges, fine. But let them not pretend about it. 'm not saying they don't have underground issues but they gave her valid reasons to burst out. That's my point.
Details have emerged as to the real reasons behind the unfriendly disposition of the family of the late governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, to the incumbent Governor Seyi Makinde.
Ajimobi, 70, was buried in his Oluyole, Ibadan residence, on Sunday.
Tongues started wagging on Sunday when a video went viral in which the former First Lady, Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, raised dust over the failure of Makinde to reach out to her since the sickness and eventual demise of her husband, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
In the said video, the former First Lady was seen accusing Makinde and his deputy, Rauf Olaniyan, an engineer, of failing to reach out to her.
But sources knowledgeable about happenings in Oyo State confirmed that the Governor was actually frustrated out of his bid to take good care of his predecessor.
“Governor Makinde, on hearing of the sickness of his predecessor asked one of his Special Advisers to make contact and establish the true situation.  The said Adviser got in contact with the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat, after attempts to reach the former First Lady failed”.
Sources said that Hamzat’s intervention led to the communication of the phone number of a personal physician to the late former Governor to the Adviser who transmitted same to Makinde.
It was learned that through the Commissioner for Health in Oyo State, the governor invited the said personal physician, who happens to be the wife of a politician and former office holder in the Ajimobi administration.
The said doctor, while she was on her was to the Government House in Ibadan, was said to have told her husband, who immediately asked her to abandon the trip to the Government House and go to Lagos.
That effort stalled, Makinde again requested for and put calls through to the former First Lady, who ignored the calls.
The governor was then said to have reached out to his colleague in Lagos, Babajide Sanwoolu, for interface.
It was gathered that the interface between the family and Sanwoolu did not go through as the former First Lady again stalled.
Sources further said that with the obvious determination of the former First Lady not to carry Oyo State Government along in the health situation of her husband, Makinde had to hand every other thing over to Sanwoolu in Lagos saying: “My brother, I leave everything in your hands. Look after him for us as a state and if there is anything I should do, I am just a phone call away.”
Upon hearing of the eventual demise of Ajimobi on Thursday, Makinde was again said to have reached out to the former First Lady, who never picked nor returned any of his several calls.
Nonetheless, the governor, who was in Benin City, Edo State for a PDP assignment immediately directed the state flag be flown at half-mast in honour of Ajimobi.
He further explained: “I was in the know that the governor was about calling a special Exco session to decide on the best way to immortalise the departed governor but the uncooperative posture from the former First lady stalled all that.
“What happened thereafter was that the Governor of Oyo received calls from Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who broke the news of the death of Ajimobi to the governor and then requested that the family had asked him to plead with Makinde to release the controversial Quarter 361 with adjoining Plots B and C totalling 23,627 sqm (about 48 plots) which was part of the illegally acquired land revoked by the state government in February this year.
“Governor Makinde wasted no time in telling the Vice President that the land in question is under litigation and that it was the same late Ajimobi who filed a suit against the government over the revocation of the controversial plot of land.
“After Osinbajo’s call to Governor Makinde came the call of former President Olusegun Obasanjo on the same matter, other governors and other well- meaning leaders of both the PDP and APC.
“Governor Makinde only stated the situation of things as per the fact that the house in question is under litigation and it would amount to toying with the power of the courts to allow such burial there. The governor was also said to have confirmed that bodies are by law not to be buried in a GRA like Agodi and even Oluyole estate. He, however, was said to have told the statesmen who called that he had nothing against burying the former governor in Oluyole Estate, where he lived till he died.
“You can see that it is baffling that all the efforts of Governor Makinde on the Ajimobi matter were rebuffed. The former First Lady cannot even understand the state protocol after eight years in Government House. She needed to first inform the sitting Governor about her husband’s sickness and then the eventual demise. There should be no excuse for that lapse.
“I am sure her anger against Makinde is because he refused to allow her gain ownership of Quarter 361 through the back door. You want to wonder why a woman who just lost her husband would be concerned about something as ephemeral as property.”
The source concluded by saying that the attempt to blackmail Makinde will not stand.

If it was your studio building, a building erected with your hard earned money, that was demolished - I bet you wouldn't refer to that as trivial. We should stop being biased in this part of the world.

A section of the studio. You are exaggerating and being emotional about it. The decision was rescind and amends given. It does not matter. Its all in the past now. I wonder what good thing your family member will say about you not to talk of your community. But here you are forming a good guy and condemning a guy who has more positives than any negative you could come up with.

there is so much bitterness btw the governor and the late former governor. I think Makinde can play more maturity by visiting the family of the bereaved. ajumobi is gone so what is still the fight all about. The woman is just being a woman and that's how women are. Anyone expecting her to act like a man does not understand a woman
PLS BEING A WOMAN DOES NOT MEAN SHE SHOULD ACT LIKE A CHILD....STOP GIVING EXCUSES FOR RUBBISH BEHAVIOUR....SMH

The main things I remember about Ajimobi is 1)He was owing my mum her gratuity and pension for a long time 2)Constituted Authority Saga 3)Destroying a disabled man's studio. Can you tell me which of these three that I should mourn him For? Nobody caring is a testament to the fact that your husband was not well received in Oyo State. If he was, regardless of the govt of the day, the people themselves will come out to mourn him.

This is simply a case of a woman feeling too big and too important than others just because of her husbands status in the society.

Humility is so far from Nigerian woman whose husband is rich or wealthy or them themselves

You dont have the contact of the deputy governor... Women and their way of reasoning shaa thats why some times if you hear the reason women quarrel among each other, you baffle.

[s]If one is able to rewind d hand of clock maybe just maybe Ajimobi should not have demolished dat studio, he might have handled d LAUTECH University students demonstration better without reminding them he is d constituted authority. All these are now history but will those still alive and on d path of such likely end learn?. Life is just ephemeral and law of karma has no intention of having an expiring date yet. [/s]
Shut up!
It's only when APC politicians are affected you wailers start remembering Karma.
Last I checked,he made amends for the demolished studio, and if karma means to kill someone because he said you had no respect for constituted authority then you better be digging your graves if you've made similar or worse statements to anyone.
Anyways,pray you reach his age.

Unfortunately those saying the governor could have sent delegates to go and visit the late Ajimobi before his death couldn't remembered the cause of his death. Covid-19 no oo. Who would want to go? and if the go would it stop the dead from deing? So the best is what the deputy did by calling so its all the woman's fault by not taking the call and not returning it.. Therefore no need for bitterness let the dead rest in peace.

Ma, this is so wrong. You should have given your phone to someone to receive your calls and give you the phone to speak to the person if it is family or someone important. You can't have everyone's number, even the ones you have their numbers change it regularly.
